Amazing
This was awesome. Though there isn't a cliff hanger or anything, I can't wait to read the next book. Mot kids will enjoy this.

Brief and Simple
A simple book. It is brief - not sure it was worth paying for - if it had been a free book, would have been at least a 4-star.

A Delightful read
The Ghost of the Black Rock Castle is the first in the series of Jess Series. Jess is an adventurous 8 year old and the book is also aimed for the kids of around the same age or above. The Class Three students are on a field trip to Black Rock Castle which is said to be haunted. Jess and her friend Ruby are convinced there are ghosts in the castle in spite of what their teacher, Mrs. Green says. Ruby has also got something to scare the ghost away. But students are not allowed to bring gifts to school. So do they come across any ghost in their trip?Jess is shown as a typical 8 year old and the story is perfect for kids. There is just enough adventure, mischief, friendship and innocence. A definite delightful read with and for children.

A great read!
Bought this book for my 2 girls age 7 and 9. They both loved the book and the other one in the series too. The print is a good size for them and the chapters are a good length. Lots to keep them interested and lovely to have a book about children of this age group. Waiting for the third book!

A great children's book
This is the first story in the 'Jess' series of stories for children aged 6-9. This story is about Jess and her classmates going on a school trip to Black Rock Castle. Jess is convinced that the castle is going to be haunted and is terrified about what they will see. Will they find any ghosts along the way?I sat and read this with my 6 year old daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed the story. A great children's book that they can relate to.

Kids will love this
Jess and the ghost of Blackrock Castle. Once again, I put on my six year old hat and headed into this book with a six year olds' anticipation. I was not disappointed. I loved Lucy the wimp, always terrified but keeps going anyway. And I related, with fond memories of my own childhood, to the mischief of Joe. Mrs Green gets my admiration as the long suffering teacher, full of patience. Kids will love it, and it's not too long to lose their interest. It gets my vote and I give it five stars.

Very good
I would definitely recommend this book. I know that it is a children's mystery book but it was good. The story drew you in and made you remember all the times that you went on class trips in school. If your child enjoys reading this will not disappoint. Heck it didn't disappoint me and I'm an adult. Very well written and kept my interest.
