wonderful photographs musical history
I enjoyed reading this book. The author tracks the history the band and its members album by album. There is not a lot of new information but I still enjoyed revisiting the music. There are a lot of wonderful photographs to accompany the text. Long time and new fans will enjoy this book. It will make a wonderful gift for any music lover.

VERY GOOD READ FOR WHO DIEHARDS LIKE ME....
this is a very nice good hardcover book that dave evans put together, there are some nice vintage photos in here and there is a lot of information here over a 55 year career.... i have read & own so many who books i feel as if i am reading so much i already knew BUT NO........................ I DO NOT CLAIM TO KNOW EVERYTHING becouse with any outfit like the who there is just so, so much that i do not feel it can all be put into any one book, there was one great book i read about 5 years back i got here on amazon if you are a real 60s who freak and want to focus on the pre live at leeds era and that was called PRETEND YOU ARE IN A WAR IN THE 60S..... that is a great read if you want to know well?? almost everything that went on in who world from 1962 to 1970... I DID LEARN one interesting thing dave noted in THIS BOOK and this is on one of the british live radio shows the who did in 1966 they did 2 JOHNNY KIDD & THE PIRATES covers and of coarse SHAKIN ALL OVER was one but with all the who bootlegs i have of live shows and studio stuff as well as radio recordings from uk/european & us radio from the 60s i never have heard the who do a cover of PLEASE DONT TOUCH like i had never heard the who cover ( until its release in 2018) COME ON EVERYBODY from the official bob pridden master tapes of the arpril 1968 fillmore east show that was officially released 50 years after the show... so when i always buy a new book on the who i ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW..... its amazing as im going into my 44th year a huge who freak and im still learning and or finding out stuff like this that happened 55 plus years ago.... anyway this is what i would call a very good basic read on the who up to 55 years........ there are other books if you want to focus on certain eras from the 60s or 70s and into the early 80s and beyond but i feel this book covers a lot of the simple basic facts and as i said i never knew the who covered please dont touch as far back as 1966 a number of times, hope a boot of it comes to surface at some point as that would be interesting to hear.... anyway THIS IS A VERY WORTHWHILE READ and im glad dave took the time & effort to put something like this out, i NEVER get bored reading about the who or any of the 4 original members and kenny jones as well......he put a great book out a few years back as well.....

Brilliant book, arrived with some damage
Ordered for my dad as a gift. He loves the book but it arrived with a scratch on the back and a small tear in the spine.
