This HydraGlo Serum from the Sculpted range by Aimee Connolly arrives in a very attractive pink and white box with gold writing. The serum is in a pump-action bottle which is also pink and white with gold writing, although the writing is very small and difficult to read in certain lighting conditions. The hydrating and plumping serum is suitable for all skin types and has a pleasant shea butter scent. The serum contains Hyaluronic Acid for hydration, Ceramides to lock in moisture and prevent environmental damage, Niacinamide to improve texture and strengthen your skin’s protective barrier, as well as soothing, softening Shea Butter. It’s also vegan and cruelty free. My wife has been trying this for a while and she says: The recommendation is to apply it as part of your daily skincare routine or as a moisturising base before applying your makeup, and to use 1-2 pumps worth. I found 2 pumps too much – it didn’t soak in very quickly and actually felt a little greasy, but 1 pump was much better and did soak in fairly quickly, which is great as it will last twice as long! I like the fact that the 30ml HydraGlo component is also completely refillable, saving you money as well. Just pop out your old tube and replace it with the HydraGlo Refill when you’re done. I’ve been using this for a short while now and really like it once I got the amount right, and I like the scent, which isn’t overpowering at all.

I found that this was very pleasant to use. It was light and easily absorbed into the skin. You needed only a tiny amount so this is likely to last for a long time. As the product is expensive this is an important factor. The perfume was subtle and gentle and the serum did not irritate my sometimes sensitive skin. As Instructed I applied the serum before going to bed and put my usual night moisturiser on top. I thought this might have made my skin too greasy but it didn't. My skin felt soft and hydrated. It is too soon to say whether the product will improve my skin in any way but I will continue to use it every day in the hope that it does. This will determine whether I decide to buy the serum again. As it is more expensive than other products which I have used, I would only buy it again if it proved to be better than other cheaper products which I have used. The serum is vegan friendly and has not been tested on animals and this was a big plus for me. The product boasts about the fact that the bottle is refillable, the implication that this is environmentally friendly. However, this is incorrect. The bottle containing the serum is enclosed within an additional container which is totally superfluous. It serves no practical purpose other than being decorative. So basically, you are replacing the bottle which contains the serum and retaining the outer container. Neither appear to be able to recycled so this product is not environmentally friendly. I have reduce my rating because of these points. Update: I have now been using this product for a month or so and I genuinely feel that it has improved my skin which looks smoother and fresher, with my pores being less noticeable. This is particularly obvious first thing in the morning. I would have given it 5* if it had not been for the non-recyclable container. Update

Firstly - the packaging, I love it. It has that very attractive feminine and luxurious feel to it with pink and gold. Secondly - the ingredients, it has shea butter, blend of different oils, niacinamide, ceramides, vitamin c. All of this mixture is anti-aging , soothing, hydrating, and protecting skin. Thirdly- I think the price for this product is very reasonable as small amount goes a long way and you get good 30ml in the package. I think it is great serum.

This serum is so wonderfully hydrating, my skin absolutely loves it. You literally feel how soothing it is when you apply it. It absorbs super fast into the skin and I usually apply it after toner, before my moisturiser. It does give the skin a super nice glow, perfect under makeup for a more feet look. It has very fine/small shimmers in it. Doesn’t have a noticeable scent and I do think it is fine for sensitive skin.
