Great product and easy to use
I am using the product to make apple chips and it is amazing. It is easy to use and above all it is safe. Many of the mandolines seem a little too dangerous for me. This one eliminates the risk of cutting yourself while being efficient and easy to clean.

Fantastic!! Gets the job done, sturdy!
What a fantastic device! I can’t believe I didn’t buy this along time ago. I ordered another mandolin slicer that nearly took my finger off but this one is incredibly safe. The blade is completely protected and the use is really easy. Very sturdy construction - seems like it’s as good as any of the $30 or $40 mandolin slicer’s. Highly recommended. Love it. Seriously. Really helps me do cool delicious creative vegetable dehydrating.

The pros and cons
Pro: safe and stable when cutting.Cuts cleaned and quickly.Easy to clean.Easy to operate, self-explanatoryGreat price for the productCon: limited in slice choicesLength of slices too short, no french fries, more like French stubsMust cut to smaller sizes to fit feederOverall: good for the price. Very basic, simple cuts

Cuts slicing time waaay down
I bought this from Amazon's second life - the person that had it before me used everything in the box, and didn't clean it, so it got a thorough soaking and scrubbing. After seeing the aftermath, I was doubtful, but, I cleaned it, got it dried up, and went to work on 4 long cucumbers and a very large onion. It would've taken me about 45 minutes to get everything sliced just right, salted, and combined. I was done in 15 minutes! It's very easy to use - you don't have to slam the chopper down or anything like that - it cuts with ease. I still don't understand how it dices yet - I'm going to have to play around with that to see.I would recommend this for anyone that frequently slices thin veggies or julienne styled veggies. You won't regret it!

safe, fast, efficient
I feel like Brieftons has re -thought the mandoline. Instead of risking my fingers sliding the vegetable over the blade (or using some awkward piece of plastic that stabs the veggie), this mandoline keeps the vegetable in one location, while the safely encased blade moves up and down to fully and safely slice the vegetable. Just got it the other day and have been slicing a lot of onions to add to pots of beans and things. I'm kind of disappointed that it works so quickly...cuz it's fun to use and I want to do more:-) Also, no stumpy ends left to risk cutting your fingers on in order to slice it all up...it gets completely sliced up. Easy to clean and store too. Seems very well made. My second handy Brieftons device (also highly recommend the Express Food Chopper). Have my eye on the spiralizer next;-)

More like a food masher, NOT a mandolin!
Yes, this product is very safe to use, but instead of slicing or dicing, then veg ends up getting mashed and softer veg like cucumbers gets turned to mush. It's a pain to clean, even with the "cleaning brush" which is too small and too soft to be effective. Prefer to risk getting cut on a mandolin that actually slices. At least the food is useable.

Too small for a medium apple or potato
It needs to be at least 1/2 inch wider, preferably a whole inch to get apples and potatoes in the feed chute. The tabs that hold front and back faces together pop out in area where the cutting happens. This makes the slices get thicker as the two halves of slicer separate in the middle. You can snap it back together but how many times until it breaks for good?

Works great
I had cut myself twice on a traditional Mandolin slicer. I didn't know there was a safe kind of slicer, but I came across this one on Amazon and then shopped around and this one was at the best price and had good reviews. I just received it today and sliced up a large zucchini. It worked like a charm, nice even slices, sharp blade and I was very pleased. I'll see if the blade holds up and the rest of the slicer also. If anything doesn't hold up I will update this review, but for now I would say buy it if you're looking for a safe mandolin slicer.
