Our filters are made of a "food grade polymer" which means that it is a plastic that doesn't impart anything to the wine and only removes compounds from the wine, in this case sulfites only. This food grade polymer is the same polymer used in other food processing situations such as de-bittering citrus juice and refining table sugar. **Q: If you are not drinking a entire bottle of wine at one time can the filter be reused for rest of bottle later** A: Yes, I have used one filter one glass at a time for the length of one regular size wine bottle. However, what I started to do, which I liked best, was to filter one wine bottle into a measuring cut or carafe and then pour the wine back into the bottle .
