Canon CA-PS700 Compact Power Adaptor
It is always safer to power your camera with a plug-in power supply when transferring images, than to use batteries. Battery voltage is always dropping, and you don't know, at what point the voltage is low enough to corrupt your images. This is not an expensive product, and provides me with peace of mind. I also feel better using a genuine Canon Power Adaptor, plus the price at amazon.com is much lower than at the Canon Web Store.

NOT compatible with SX70 HS
Canon's spec sheet for this says it's compatible with the SX70 HS, and their website lists it as an accessory for the camera. It's not, unless you purchase additional 3rd party parts to interface between the camera and power supply. Canon does not list or sell the parts, so you're probably voiding your warrantees for the SX70 HS and CA-PS700 if you find a way to use this power supply with this camera.

I recomend to use a voltage regulator for this power adapter, the latter broke and ran out under.

It is the factory adapter - not a knockoff that may or may not blow up your camera.

Poor Choice
Bought this for a Canon S2 IS. Works fine; but it's heavy and cumbersome because of the two-part cord with the transformer in the middle. I won't be travelling with this. A couple of years ago I bought an adapter from Digipower for another camera. It is light, compact, and cheap. Wish I'd tried to get a clone adapter for this camera too.

Saves on batteries
Owning the Canon PowerShot S5 IS, this power wall adapter saves on the batteries, since I'm constantly reviewing and deleting pictures off my 2 GB card. I don't use the camera's battery power anymore.

Does NOT work with Canon Rebel XSi
I have a Canon Rebel XSi and needed a power adapter for long shoots in my studio. I ordered the CA-PS700 expecting it to fit my camera as the description described, but the male power adapter attachment is too large for the camera's female receptor. Bottom line, don't buy if you have an XSi. I cannot attest to whether it works with the other cameras on the list, but it does not work with the XSi.
