This isa perfect book for beginners! Easy to understand, great pictures and facts of local birds!

My dad recently retired and lives in Northern California in a beautiful wooded area where he sees tons of different birds. I got this for him for his birthday, and it ended up being the perfect gift! He’s been having a great time spotting different birds and marking them off in the book as he sees them. It’s informative without being overwhelming and gives him a fun little activity to do while enjoying all the wildlife around his home. Definitely a great gift for anyone who enjoys birdwatching, whether they’re a beginner or already a bird enthusiast.

I purchased this for a vacation because I wanted to pick up birdwatching. I'd read the book at my AirBnB and then apply what I learned when I was out hiking. I found this to be a fantastic resource at just the right level of detail. Even the second half of the book, dedicated entirely to simply summaries of key characteristics of the most common birds of America, felt valuable but a breeze to read through. It give you a sense of what features/patterns of recognition are most comment when trying to single out a bird species from a set of similar-looking characters. The first half of the book also had a great introduction to how this works in abstract, as well as a good introduction to birding culture and various insider terms and concepts.s

Very nice book, good for beginning bird watchers. It gives information on how to bird watch and has identification pictures of birds. It was a gift for my son and he had enjoyed it,

Loved it very good information about all birds

I have always fed my birds. I love watching birds and I have a book so I’ll know what kind of birds they are. I have a friend that was starting to watch them he’s an older gentleman in his 70s and I bought him this book because he would say don’t know what kind of bird this one is on my porch, it’s beautiful so I bought him the book and he is just getting so much enjoyment out of this book because it’s so easy for him to read and to look up the pictures of them.

We just started backyard bird watching. Great book for beginners,. Able to identify quite a few backyard species. Enjoyable content.

Book came dirty

This is an excellent book for bird lovers. It is really calming for altimizers because of the pictures and the print.

My child loved it. It’s got lots of information and lots of fun!
