One Cause, Many Ailments: Leaky Gut Syndrome: What It Is and How It May Be Affecting Your Health Paperback – Illustrated, March 30, 2008

I have, for about 12 years now, been aware of the underlying causes behind many skin ailments as given by Edgar Cayce in his numerous readings on such things as acne, psoriasis, eczema, and so on. One of those underlying causes is what he called a "thinning" of the intestinal walls. But this was always kind of a vague description in my mind; I didn't know exactly how that might result in acne or psoriasis or any of the other maladies attributed to said cause. But then I discovered Dr. Pagano's book and was immediately drawn to understand more about this problem virtually ignored by modern medicine.In reading this book, I found that my understanding was expanding ever so gently and radically at the same time. Dr. Pagano brings with him decades of experience treating numerous diseases, and he writes with such a simple and organized style that I think anyone could understand it. In the relatively short book, he manages to give one heck of a lesson on biology and anatomy in such a way that even this biology-flunkey (me) could comprehend. And most importantly, he does so in such a practical way that one comes out knowing the exact steps needed to put one on the road to healing a leaky gut and the confidence that one CAN do it.Now, Dr. Pagano explicitly states that he is not under the illusion that LGS is the cause of EVERY case of the associated ailments (psoriasis, eczema, arthritis, food allergies, fibromyalgia, and more), and in fact there is a test for LGS which he describes in the book and provides information for a physician to obtain this test. But even without the test, one can find out if his advice works by following it. That's the great thing, it is not medicine you need a prescription for (although there are a couple prescriptions he describes which can be used to help heal a leaky gut). So the best thing would be to try it for oneself and see what works. Give it time, persistence, and patience, as other successful cases have reported, and you will likely see improvements! Some cases have reported complete improvement in days, some in weeks, and even some in months, but one thing they all say is that with persistence and patience, the successful results are beyond what they imagined possible.I must state here that I do not personally suffer from any skin abnormalities other than the occasional pimple, nor do I suffer from any other types of diseases that I know of right now. But after reading this book, I was inspired to not want to get to that point either! Following his advice is not only limited to those who wish to cure a problem but also for those who wish to prevent one. After following the advice on diet, I have noticed a drastic change in my overall well-being both physically AND psychologically. I also had this persistent scabby sore in my nose for literally months which would occasionally come off while blowing my nose, and when it would come off the wound would bleed. After about a week on the new and improved diet, this sore came off again, but when it did, it didn't hurt nor did it bleed, and it was gone for good. It is still gone.I highly recommend this book to anyone. Understanding these diseases is very important in these times when it is so common to come in contact with people suffering from them. Many of us, even if we ourselves do not have a major illness, probably know someone or even love someone who does. Therefore, as a responsibility to our fellow beings on this planet, I recommend obtaining this knowledge. The betterment of mankind starts with such small understandings, when shared. A healthier body and mind makes for a better vehicle with which to do good in the world. One can only do so much if he is bedridden or loses his life 30 years sooner than he had to due to his own carelessness concerning the physical organism. So I do highly recommend this book. The impression I get is that many people suffer because of this underlying cause of a leaky gut, and it is sad that they will likely go their whole life from one doctor to the next, on all kinds of drugs, to never actually cure their disease, because the underlying cause is still there. It is very sad to know this, and sad that it is a cycle, because those who don't understand are educating those who don't understand, and no one is truly being healed. It will take a revolution within individuals to break out of that cycle, and that revolution begins with educating ourselves so that we are not blind and at the mercy of the blind, so that we can claim our bodies as our own and live with them peacefully instead of being slaves to all these various and often unnecessary illnesses. And to think, such a revolutionary education is right here at our fingertips... for only ten dollars... such knowledge is found in the most overlooked and undervalued places.

I have psoriasis and bought this book along with Pagano's other book Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative and it makes total sense. I now understand how I got this disease and how to get rid of it. I have seen improvement after following the diet and regimen prescribed in the book. Its only been around 2 months that Ive followed the diet and only now im beginning to get results. Yes it requires patience and faith and sacrifice of foods that you love but its all worth it. I am by no means clear of this disease but i know that i am on the way to healing. Your skin does get worse before it gets better and ive experienced the "die off" period 2 times already so dont be discouraged, just cntinue the program. Seeing the photo results in the book provides me with hope that I too can be clear just like these people who faithfully followed the regimen.Buy this book, it is a God send and you will never fear this disease again, but will have confidence in combating it!You can be healed, this book has the answer so stop looking elsewhere. The longer you stay on the regimen and diet the longed you will stay "cured".Very satisfied with this book!!

It is a very informative book. I learned a lot about Leaky Gut Syndrome and how it actually effects me. I would suggest it for anyone that has been diagnosed with LGS. If I had read this book a year ago when I was first diagnosed I would probably be farther along with my healing process. It answers questions that you didn't know you had.

This book offers a real insight that explains whats really going on in the gut and a solution to the problems that the mainstream medical profession over look, because of the trainning they recieve in Med school. Thanks to John Pagano for his commitment in helping his fellow persons to learn about their bodies that isn't taught in schools.

By following Dr.Pagano's regimen and using his other book "Dr'John's healing psoriasis coobook plus...! I improved my atopic dermatitis dramatically and finally can live like a human being once again, I know I will cure myself eventually but it will take months, have no doubts that this is probably the only way you will ever be able to cure yourself from Psoriasis or eczema and probably many many other ailments caused by the LGS, you are what you eat, that is for sure.Healing and blessing to you, get the book what are you waiting for?

For many years I have been an A.R.E. member and read many of Edgar Cayce's readings, I never made the connection with the digestive disruptions, spastic colon, upset stomach, etc.that I had experienced my whole life with the Nightshade issue and damage to the intestinal wall damage(i.e.Leaky gut syndrome) This diet has allowed me to heal, and given me the information I had been lacking to control my diet and it's after effects. Thank you Dr. John Pagano, and thank you Edgar Cayce!

this book is very informative with step by step format to get you on the right path as well as explaining what is happening--at first seemed overwhelming the foods not allowed but as things sink in you realize there are that many more that you can eat---although my case is not that severe after 3 wks I am already feeling better--- wish I could give a copy to everyone that has this ailment.

I want to help you because others have done the same to me.My name is Tomxico 56 years old and I am a teacher at the beautiful traditional Nazaré beach in Portugal.You should visit by the way.My health problems are IBS, leacky gut, disbioses and other inflamatory disorders related, like knees joint pain, food allergies, sinus and enlarged prostate (60 gr). By now all in moderate terms I think.I have tryed some classic medications and visit many docters. The result is ...nothing. Only probiotics get me feel a litle relief.It's a shame as traditional classic medicine just don't care about this problem. I feel I am all by myself. Each physician just cares about his domain and try to treat symptoms not the root cause. To me, everything is related with ... the gut.About this book it's a must have. If you suffer from the problems I reported above and many others you realy need to buy this book.Very well writen, very informative, very usefull. Well written, clear and modern. This doctor writes well and bring about a better understanding of a condition that goes under the radar. I recommend this book, but especially anything by this author.

Having suffered from psoriasis, I found this book very interesting.I have managed to clear my skin, mainly I believe by changing mydiet, and this book reinforces my belief that diet has a huge impact on how you lookand feel.This was something that my doctor and skin specialist dismissed.It is easy to read and offers logical advice on howmany different ailments can be caused by a weakness in the intestinal wall.It offers practical advice on how to try and manage and eradicate such problems.Would recommend to anyone suffering with skin problems and as it highlightsother ailments it could help, when conventional medicine seemsfutile.
