Works fine
The existing 174-A burned out the heating element with quite a spark display. Rather than just replace the element, I opted to replace complete unit. They sent. 174-B, just swapped out the internals a a unit, put the new grille on and voila. It seems to work better than the old one, or it might be my imagination. At any rate it works well. Found after this purchase and install, unit was a few dollars less, 😡, maybe next time.

Great little heater
The media could not be loaded. Perfect for a bathroom or bedroom. Easy to use and install heats quickly isn’t noisy. Great for the price and looks good to.

integrated thermostat short cycles
The unit is soundly constructed, the fan produces good air volume, the heaters seem to be efficient and well constructed. HAVING SAID THAT........ 1) the manner to change from low wattage to high wattage is to partly disassemble the heater. See the instruction sheet on line. SOLUTION - I cut a rectangular hole for a 10A 240V rocker switch, wired in the jumper to the second heater core so that it could be turned off or on without a screw driver and disassembly.2) the heated air deflector did not fully direct all heated air out the grill panel. this caused the bi-metal temperature control to short cycle on and off. SOLUTION - I sheared and bent a deflector that fully directed all the heated air out through the front panel. The heater now controls the temperature in the heated space much better.Sorry Don't have photos

Second one purchased, performs better than expected.
Unit is quiet and you get several choices of heat settings. Once installed in wall, it looks commercial grade and the size is of a small footprint. It heats a small to large bathroom, for my needs, read instructions to size perfectly. My first one heated a large bathroom, the second a smaller bathroom, cozy heat on cold mornings and almost instantly heats up.

Good size, flexible wattageis a plus
I got this heater to help heat a porch that was converted into a room in my old, drafty house. It didn't previously have heat and would get pretty cold in the winter, but not as bad as a stand-alone unconditioned structure. The 750w/1500w convertible feature is nice, in my case I used the 750w setting and it's kept up well on the few cold days we've had so far in this 120 sqft room. The fan is a nice alternative to baseboard heaters and heats up quickly. Other reviewers noted an issue with the thermostat which caused the fan to cycle on and off quickly because the heat was getting trapped in the housing, this hasn't been an issue for me and the heater can run for over an hour without shutting off prematurely.Installation was easy, and I was able to put it on an existing circuit safely. PLEASE consult an electrician if you're not confident in your electrical skills or don't have a good understanding of your house's wiring, even hard-wired space heaters can cause fires if improperly installed or there's too much load on the circuit.

Thermostat shuts off too quickly
I bought 2 of these units for newly built bathrooms (each about 8x8. I had them professionally installed by my electrician, and put on their own circuits to avoid tripping a breaker.I am not impressed with these units at all. A quick summary:Pros:1. Fit in compact space2. Relatively quiet3. Inoffensive aesthetics (it's not ugly)Cons:1. No real on/off switch, just a turn dial that goes from "low" to "high". It's also not easy to see how high or low the dial is set as the line on the unit is a barely visible white line the same color as the face plate.2. Doesn't really provide a significant amount of heat.3. By far my biggest complaint: an Inconsistent thermostat. My typical use pattern would be to want to turn on the unit prior to showering. This would be to bring a 68F bathroom up a few degrees. However, in my use, even at the highest setting, the unit works for about 2 minutes then shuts off for a number of minutes. It will sporadically cycle back on and off, but it can be on as little as 20 seconds before shutting off again.I can only assume that either, A) the thermostat on both of my units is defective or B) due to a design flaw, the thermostat is impacted by the ambient temperature of the metal cover. The bottom line is that I have a heater that doesn't produce nearly enough heat, and not for nearly as long as I'd like it to run. Because it can be off so long in between, I sometimes even forget it's "on," and leave it running for hours by accident.I've removed the face plate to check that nothing was wrong, but couldn't see anything obvious. it did appear that the unit ran longer when the face plate was off, which leads me to believe that the design defect I hypothesized about may be true.I'm really looking now for a replacement (even though mine is ~6mo old). In retrospect, I would have been better off getting a unit wired to stay on consistently to a timer switchI would not recommend this to a friend, nor would i purchase it again. I'm disappointed in my purchase, especially given that I spent several hours reviewing a variety of wall-mounted heaters for the job.

Works well
This is an odd one... I built a 12x12 she-shed, and hubby bought me this for xmas to heat it with (am putting a treadmill out there so need some heat when it's crazy cold here). I don't know how well this would work in a house, but in my shed, it works really well. It doesn't feel all that hot if you put your hand in front of it, but it heats the space up quickly. The dial doesn't have a lot of spin, so turning it just a little changes the temp a lot, so I may have issues regulating the temp if I decide to just keep it on all the time, but at the moment, I'm pretty impressed. Will update when I get my first heat bill:)

Works great in my boat
Installed in the forward cabin of my 42' boat and it keeps it pretty warm with the doors closed. With the doors open it takes most of the chill off of the floor walking into the cabin. I haven't finished cleaning up the new trim but the image should tell the story. I may try flipping it to have grate pointed upwards. All in all a well built and easy to install heater.

Great Price
I did a lot of research before purchasing this wall heater. It had great reviews and the price was lower on Amazon than anywhere else. It has a nice low profile and will work perfect in a bathroom for extra warmth on a cold morning. It is off white, almost a cream and will look nice with any wall colour. Looks like an easy install. Quick delivery!

Only worked about 10 minutes - item returned
Update:Next day I used it for the first time, and it ran for about 10 minutes, then the fan stopped working, and shortly after then element shut-off. I opened the unit and pressed the reset button. After that the element would work but the fan would still not turn on. After reading all the reviews where people had problems I decided to return the unit.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I purchased this heater to replace another one almost identical which broke down after 25 years or so. It seems fairly sturdy and well designed, this model is made of galvanized steel, and has a control directly on the front plate, the previous one was painted black, and was controlled by a separate thermostat, but the overall form and dimensions are identical. The heater is made of two separate assemblies, the outside casing (like a half box) in which sits the other assembly, the heater assembly (see first picture of the older model). To install the outer casing you need to run a bracket through a groove on the top outside part of the assembly. This means it is not possible to install it with the gyprock on the wall without having to cut some of it out. Basically it's made to install before you close the walls.I found the fan a little noisy but not a problem if it's for a bathroom, or a room where no one sleeps.

nice and small for the space I had
I looks fine, works well, the room is quite cold in the winter so it takes a while to heat up. But I knew that would be the case.
