So much easier and smoother
My truck springs had too narrow of gaps when installed for the older tools to work. They got stuck. This one both fit, and was much smoother and easier to use.Tip: if the gaps in the spring are too tight to get the top hook out, you can remove the threaded rod and pull all the other parts of the clamp off, giving you room to maneuver the top hook out of the spring. I had to do this.

Massive tool will safely compress strut springs
The grippers are very hefty and work well to safely compress the spring. Safety is enhanced by a locking bar that is incorporated into the tool.

Great
Works great would recommend used on f-150 bilstein 6112 front 2” lift struts and it did the job with no problems make sure you lubricate threads

Great tool used on Escalade Springs
After not being able to find a shop that would change out these struts for me I ordered these. They worked perfectly and felt safe using them on large Escalade springs. Have used them a few times and have had no issues. They seem like they need lubrication on the threads after a few uses.

This is the one you want
Used this to compress the new Bilstein 6112 springs and they worked perfectly. Nothing felt sketchy like other compressors I've used in the past. Once you get them positioned correctly, they work like a charm. Set the new coilovers on the 4th (highest) setting for my 2008 Tundra, and still had plenty of room to go.

safe to use
as others have said this works great. still respect the tension, but this handles it just fine. I did take the screw out all the way and coat it with anti-seize for proper lubrication on both.2016 gmc sierra 1500

Worked great, easy and safe if you follow instructions
These are good spring compressors. Used them on 2008 Sonata struts to replace the shock absorbers. Read the instructions and watch their YouTube video if you want a tutorial. A little grease on the threads wouldn't hurt but I skipped that and they worked fine. These will save you money as you only usually need to replace the shock portion of a strut anyway and as a bonus you can also avoid garbage quick struts. The oem springs, bumpers and mounts, etc are usually better quality that what a quick strut would supply and you save some money in the process. If you need new mounts just buy good ones when you order the shocks and install them when you swap over. I'll use these many times Im sure.

Great slim design
These compressors fit well between springs that have little space. Very easy to use and strong so you feel safe using them.
