I have a Matterport subscription that I used with my iPhone and was very pleased. Even more pleased when I saw this available that included a year of subscription. Matterport will not provide credit for this promo with an existing account. No problem I thought, I will just cancel and start a new account. But no, Matterport's website now says this promo code has expired or already used. I have already spent probably an hour on the phone to find out that the promo can't be used with if you already have an account. At the time I ordered this I had only had the service for a month. When the package arrived I had just been charged for my second month (which expired yesterday). Now I have to spend more time to get this issue resolved. I have a suspicion that it will not, just based on my previous calls. The reps I spoke to were clueless about this promo. The service is $9.99 per month. If I am unable to use the promo, I have paid $130 for something I could buy direct for $90. Not happy and normally wait until issues are resolved or not before reviewing, but I feel scammed at this point.

First of all, this company has THE WORST customer support team. EVER. No one speaks english! Second, if you run out of the original 5 spaces, they charge you $240 to upgrade to 10 spaces. So 5 additional spaces for 240 more dollars! ANd no, you cant go on monthly because this deal is a yearly package. Now for the actual device. The quality of the 3D tour is very good. Customers like it. That being said, it is very difficult and has a steep learning curve. You will make many mistakes that you will not be able to discover for hours after you use the product, and by then it is usually too late. My axis always disconnnects. It shuts down on its own in the middle of a shoot. ANd sometimes it will just start spinning wildly. Sometimes in a house it will continuously tell you that you are too far away from the previous spot EVEN when you are literally standing on the previous spot. I've had it happen like this where it took me an hour of trying a new spot before I gave up and deleted everything and started over. Not to mention that Matterport has a branded watermark, which cant be used on all realtor platforms, and there is NO WAY to remove it. Sometimes, it will work very fast and other times extremely slow. And I only bought this thing 3 months ago! So many issues. Not worth it. If I hadn't already dropped money on this product, I would try something else.

Use this for scanning and having 3d walk throughs of apartments I rent out. It is pretty easy to operate although will turn on inside the carry case and drain battery so can be problematic if you are expecting a full charge and want to use it but then find it dead. Otherwise a decent alternative to hefty cost that could come of professional scans

The Matterport Axis works as described, but requires way too much time and effort to work well for professional or even prosumer projects. I would only recommend the Axis if you just plan to work on a few small DIY projects, cannot afford a 360 camera (e.g. Insta360 ONE X2), and don't mind dedicating several hours of scanning per project. Using my iPhone 12 Pro Max along with the Matterport Axis, it took me over 3.5 hours to capture a 1,148 sqft 2 bed 2 bath unit, including a small loft and balcony (3D LiDAR Complete Scan). I started in the afternoon and finished just before sunset, so the lighting changed by the time I took the last scan. While the Axis works as intended, the overall experience is far from ideal: • You must manually tilt your phone on the Axis up and down 15 degrees to complete each scan, making this process extremely slow (e.g. if your project requires about 50 scans, expect to tilt your Axis phone mount up and down about 100 times - doing so requires loosening and tightening the phone mount thumb screw each time, and ensuring your phone is aligned with the dot on the screen). • Every now and then, the Axis would jerk slightly to the left or right, even while the Matterport app was actively scanning, which defeats the point of using the Axis in the first place. I'm not sure if this caused any of the stitching errors in my project, but it was concerning to see. • My phone battery came close to dying several times, forcing me to stop and charge in order to finish scanning the location. This isn't the Axis' fault, but it's an inherent flaw/limitation in the overall setup. • The resulting dollhouse was ugly and jagged despite taking scans every couple of steps. Despite all the cons, using the Axis IS noticeably better than capturing a location by holding your phone in your hand. Unlike other reviewers, the software worked fine for me. I was very pleased with the overall increase in quality and the improved stitching. It's definitely not perfect (see image of door), but I think it's acceptable and even on-par with some of the professionally scanned Matterport projects I've seen. Still, I decided to return my Axis after just one project because I don't want to repeat the painful, overly long process I experienced. Also, I was not satisfied with the quality of the dollhouse. For my next project, I will definitely buy a 360 camera instead of using my iPhone and Axis. -- EDIT: I added one more photo which better illustrates some of the stitching errors (thankfully, there weren't too many of these). I also included another bullet point about the Matterport Axis randomly jerking left or right during scanning.

I really want to give this awesome thing 5 stars. But here is why I am giving it 4. It takes remarkable scans. I have a Samsung S21 Ultra and use my own tripod. I opted out of the $10 tripod, because it wasn't the one shown in the original video, and seemed a little flimsy (I mean it's $10). As for the device, it's awesome, my only complaint is the impact it puts on your phones processor. The Matterport Capture app is continuously giving "performance affected because phone is heating up." I ended purchasing a mini fan, that attaches to my tripod to keep my phone cool. It seems to have solved the problem, but gets in the way of the scan. I'll try and adjust the fan some more, so it's not in the way of the image. I also can't get the remote to connect to my phone. Either way, this is an awesome compact tool, for a crumb of the the Matterport boxes go for. High end smartphones/superphones have tons of tech that allow proper 3D scanning. The scans are quick, each one takes less than 60 seconds to capture and process. It doesn't seem to use much battery on my phone, or the Axis itself. My only other gripe is, Matterports options to share your scans are a little pricey, in terms or the available price tiers. However if you are adding this as a tool to your existing business, as I am, that shouldn't a deal breaker. I hope this review helps.

Something you have to keep in mind is that you don’t want to use LiDAR because it takes too long. A simple scan is more than sufficient. I can scan a 2000 sq. ft. home in about an hour. Make sure you turn the screen brightness down because your phone will drain before you finish a large house. I just love this thing. I couldn’t afford anything else and I’m so happy this came along. I have already made money with it. I don’t notice any stitching problems. But then I don’t zoom in real close looking for them and neither do my clients or their buyers and sellers. I’ve had zero complaints. Just don’t try using LiDAR you’ll be there all day for no reason. It doesn’t really improve anything except maybe if you want a detailed floor plan. I use CubiCasa for floor plans anyway. I highly recommend this product.

I’ve spent a lot of money (really, a lot) as a real estate agent hiring Matterport guys to make virtual tours of my home listings. While the top-of-the-line equipment in the hands of an expert will still be best (and on my highest end listings, I’ll still hire out) this makes a scan so close in quality that I can do 80 percent of the homes myself without feeling that I’m shortchanging the client at all (it helps that I’m also a photographer). The biggest takeaway is that any agent at any level who isn’t willing to invest the time to create a Matterport tour of ANY listing at this point isn’t fully representing their client’s properties. It’s a cheap investment that absolutely pays off (assuming you have a high end iPhone).

This Gimble is so simple to use when linked to the Matterport software. Two minutes to set up, less than one minute to scan a room.

Très satisfait de cet achat, le rendu est très pro ....facile d'utilisation mais attention à bien recharger le produit avant utilisation et pour ma part le chargeur iphone ne charge pas cet objet j'ai pris un autre chargeur et ça a bien fonctionné

Bonne qualité de construction, mais la qualité des sans est vraiment pas super, me demande vraiment pourquoi ils n'ont pas intégré un deuxième moteur pour orienté le téléphone dans le bon angle à chaque fois. L'achat d'une caméra 360 fait de meilleur scan.

Ik dacht een gimbal besteld te hebben. Maar blijkbaar geen goed onderzoek gedaan vooraf. Het is een stabilisator. Even uitgepakt en is wel een heel mooi apparaat als je hem nodig hebt. Ik denk als je het nodig hebt, je wel waar voor je geld krijgt.
