SE Prospector's Serrated Edge Digger Compact Shovel Trowel for Gardening, Metal or Gold Prospecting and Detecting - Includes Carrying Sheath

I have been looking for an excuse to buy this for years and I finally found one. If you have really dry, rocky or tough dirt and you want a garden shovel that won't immediately bend when you dig, this is a great choice. Also if your dirt has a ton of roots/rocks/etc. in it, this is a great shovel for digging. I use it for planting/gardening, but I assume it is also great for metal detecting outings. 10/10!

SE prospectors trowel is excellent, in my case gardening work. Tool has heft, and cuts through tough soil easily. Product appears very sturdy and the sheath seems fairly durable.

So, I just bought a metal detector and I decided I needed a trowel type tool to go with it. After reading the reviews and seeing the prices I was shocked at how much these things go for so I read the reviews and decided on this unit. Let me tell you, I am impressed! I live in Missouri and the ground is hard as a rock here when it gets trampled. I've used this unit to dig plugs at fairgrounds and parks alike and pried on this puppy till the cows came home. It hasn't bent a bit! Very sturdy and well worth the 11$ or whatever it cost. 10/10 would buy another one. Next purchase is going to be a little shovel though for the deeper holes.

Tool seems tough enough. The cheap price is reflected in the details. Not sharpened, quickly assembled, cheap sheath, etc. But it does what it's supposed to do. I have hard, dry, rocky soil and it had no problem busting it up and prying out smaller rocks. I expect this will work great on a grassy area with softer looser soil for cutting plugs. There is no such thing as cutting plugs where I live, but you still need some kind of hand held digging tool and this one beats a regular garden trowel. The sheath probably won't hold up to long use but so far it is okay. When it finally tears, I will just order another tool and this one can be moved to garden duty.

I bought this shovel for my metal detecting kit I have. Works great and very good quality.

I keep it in my mud boots. I like how it also cuts through roots. It's very strong and I can't see bending it ever

Very well made and I doubt that I’ll ever bend it in any way. I’ve used it for a while now for metal detecting and I’m very pleased with it. I’d recommend it.

Admiitedly, I've only used this digger twice on my first day of treasure hunting but it performed very well for digging smaller holes. I like that the handle is florescent orange making it easy to find if misplaced. If there's one improvement I could make it would be to make the sheath clip on versus having to thread it on to a belt. But, for the price and durability, I can live with that.

Great quality and works great with our metal detecting ventures. Easily penetrates through thick grass and ground and easy to carve out a plug.

Sehr schnelle Lieferung, toller Preis aber vor Allem stabil! Ich testete ihn heute gleichmal beim Sondeln, lies den Spaten im Auto und nahm nur den Digger mit. Er kam überall durch, der Boden war teilweise so hart dass ich vor lauter Steine nicht in den Boden kam. Trotz meines schon sehr kraftvollem Einsatzes verbog sich der Digger nicht und blieb wie er sein sollte. Ich kann ihn guten Gewissens weiter empfehlen!!!!

Cuando la pedí pensé que iba a llegar una herramienta más frágil pero resultó estar hecha de manera muy sólida. Excava bien en lugares terrosos donde el suelo no es blandito. Sin embargo creo que sí necesita afilarse un poco para lugares con pasto pues batallé con el mismo, nada grave, supongo que con la mencionada afilada va a ir muy bien. Ahora sólo me falta averiguar como afilarla.

This shovel is a must for any metal detectorist! The serrated edge makes it easy to slice through dirt a turf. It has a belt loop on the sheath which is nice, and the sheath itself is good quality. I've used it for 2 seasons now and it's still holding up extremely well.
