Great quality for $
This thing is solid - I’ve bought some others for this price when I’ve been in a pinch but they are clunky and I end up tossing them. Bought to take a me to Maryland when I visit my son. Handled a couple of 5 lb stripers really well off the dock. This one is comparable to my Penn battle reels initially which I can’t believe I’m saying but it’s smooth. We’ll see in longevity but I’m impressed with it so far

Great travel rod!!!
Finally caught some fish to judge this combo. Line, reel, and rod all felt good catching some 2 pound bass and 3-4 pound pike. Maybe I should have gone with the 2000 reel/7 ft rod as the 3000 is a little bulky for me and the 7.8 ft rod wears me out quick if I'm jigging, popping, jerking or sweeping, but it casts a mile and is smooth as can be on a straight retrieve. Completely recommend this set up. Just know what size you want rather than getting the biggest you can imagine yourself using because it's telescoping (like I did).

tip broke off!
This rod has gone up in price since $15 since I bought it two months ago, and it broke today while I was fishing. If I could ask for my money back, I would! Do not recommend this rod at all.

Overall good rod and reel
Overall This is a great collapsible fishing rod and reel (so far) . There is really just one negative about this rod, and that is the first rod guide is a little tool close to the rod, making reeling in line a little lunky. You can only feel it when reeling in a weighted or dicing lure, but it's not really a problem... Just more of an annoyance. Rod will lift a 2lb bass out of the water no problem. Reel is powerful and drag is smooth during a fight. For the money... It's a great travel rod to always keep in the car... In case you need to do some emergency fishing! I recommend.
