Loosey Goosey (but there's a way to fix this) ...
I have to admit, that while I was initially a bit skeptical about these specific pads, because I don't usually like the foam feel of the original pads that these were supposed to replace, I was convinced once I put them on my Grado SR 60's for about 10 minutes!I have another set of Yaxi pads, for my Sennheiser HD-25's, and they are the BEST thing that could have ever happened to those headphones. I use them primarily for DJ'ing, and I absolutely love them. When I replaced the stock Senn pads with the Yaxi ones, I was just astounded by the comfort level on them.On the topic of pad comfort, I can't say that these Yaxi ones for the Grados deliver that same result as the ones for the Senns, but I can say that they are definitely less "scratchy" feeling than the pads that come supplied with my SR60's. I think the density of the foam on the Yaxi replacements helps in the comfort department.COMFORT: 7/10 - not great, but better than OGWhere these really shine, however, is in the sonic improvements they provide. The Yaxi pads make the overall sound on my 60's much tighter. The bass is noticeably punchier, the mids more present, and the highs are tamed just enough. The overall sound stage is how I can only describe as more cohesive. The stock pads just made everything sound more "loose" and "hollow" to my ears.SOUND IMPROVEMENT: 11/10 - much better than OGThe SR60 line is the entry level in the Grado line, and I didn't expect much from that line when I purchased it, but I can honestly say that the Yaxi pads were a noticeable improvement. These went from headphones that I was just going to hang on my rack just to say that I owned a pair of Grados, to a pair of HP's I'm definitely going to use much more frequently. That said, I don't understand the complaints in the reviews. It's too thin? It's actually more dense than the original, and I think this really helps improve the sound quality. The smell? What smell? Was this person smelling their own horrible cologne? LOL ... there is no smell. And even if there was, just let the pads air out for a few days. No need to be whiny about it. "Just so you know" ...Ok, well, there is one complaint, which is the fit. So I've read that these pads were designed for a large array of Grado cans, thus they tend to fit a bit more on the loose side on the 60's and 80's. I can see how that's a problem as they can fall off easily, and this was my first worry as well. However, a helpful community member from a Grado FB group suggested a solution … So, here’s a SOLUTION FOR THE LOOSE FIT ISSUE (a temp one). I say temporarily because it requires the use of a rubber band, and how long that rubber band lasts depends on unknown variables. Essentially the rubber band helps to improve the pad to grip significantly more than without it, thus keeping it in place (at least more so than without it). Keep in mind that the process requires a bit of patience! First, I had to find a nice flat rubber band that worked well with the radius of the ear cup, then I had to carefully align the rubber band with the outer edge of the cup - this part will take some time, but isn't necessarily difficult. Take a look at the pictures I posted with this review so you can see what I mean. Once you have the rubber band carefully placed and aligned on the outer edge, very carefully stretch the YAXI pad over the part of the cup that the rubber bad is, so that you don't move the rubber band or cause it to slip off. Once you have the pad fitted back on the cups properly, you'll clearly see that the grip has improved quite a bit. You'll probably need to replace the rubber band every year or so, but at least you have a temp fix for the loose pads.FIT: 6/10 - fixable.Anyway, are these pads worth it? Yes and no. In my first review draft I was 100% supportive of the price point, but then I saw the price of the YAXI pads for the Koss Porta Pro's. Why are those only $12 and these $20? What makes the Grado pads cost $8 more? They help with sound, sure, but they don't fit the Grado Prestige line well. They do look a tad thicker, but does that amount to an additional $8 in cost? I don't think so. If there was no reference point to compare these to, I'd say sure they're worth $20, but now that I know that their other foam pads are only $12, I'm a bit disappointed. If the other ones are $12, the max these should really be is $15.VALUE: 7.5/10 - good, but should be cheaper.Originally, I gave a 5 star rating, and by most accounts it should have that, but when I looked back at the issues like the fit and price especially, I don't think I can give it that. In reality, this should have 3.25 or 3.5 stars at BEST, but since we can't give 1/4 or 1/2 stars, I'm going to be generous and round it up to 4, but only because I like the YAXI brand and they make good stuff. I'm looking forward to buying more pads from them in the future.

As a YAXI stan, I was a little dissapointed
I use YAXI pads on my KOSS KPH40's and they are excellent. Soft, cushy, mod for my favorite pair of budget on ears. So I bought these without any hesitation for my GW100's. They are rough and scratchy compared to the stock earpads! I'm not sure if I got a lemon or what. They sound the same, so at least there is that. I would like to recommend them as just a cheaper alternative if you need replacements, but they are more expensive than the official ones!
