How transparent are the lids? I'm looking to store specimens and want to be able to see them top-down Thank you in advance!

They are clear! They come with an insert to put into the lid, just don't put it in.

Will these leak if i put liquid in them?

I think they would leak since they don’t have a gasket of any kind. A garden hose sprayer leaks when the gasket wears out, so these probably would also.
