Tegaderm Transparent Dressing, 6 x 8 Inch, 10 Count

I was introduced to this product at an inline skating clinic and found that it worked fantastic before and after a skate for damaged/road abraided skin. Easily cut for customizing I have used or given away over 20- 4x4-3/4 patches to individuals that have had road abrasion accidents in the last month. Large patches have to be changed constantly to remove the built-up lymph fluid and new dressing re-applied. Do not try to cheap out like I did and put a small patch on the vent hole you might create. It will never seal properly and you will take it all up and put a brand new one on. Trust me! Unfortunately, in inline skating - road rash is a normal occurance even with pads on. Great to have in the arsenal of healing gear and it is my last resort for instant pain relief - hopefully I will not have to cover that much area but you never know. Will cut up to smaller sizes as due date of 2014 approaches. Fingers crossed. This product makes it painless to treat road rash and allows you to heal fast. It only took a week to get new skin back on my elbow - hopefully without most visible scars. Ditto for one on the hip. Also works great for cuts and is much cheaper than Elastoplast/Band-Aid versions found in your local pharmacies. Fantastic for young children since the pain goes away almost immediately and the wound heals rapidly in a moist environment. Did I mention the adhesive will not stick to the repairing skin!

I’ve bought this many times to dress a chronic wound. The value is fantastic considering four of the 4x3 cost $18 in our local store. I have cut this product to fit and as long as you keep track of the separating edge it works out fine. No skin damage as compared to traditional medical tape.

Had surgery and one of the drains left an open wound of about an 1/2 inch in diameter which freaked me out!!. These are great for bigger open wounds that require healing. I like that you can cut them to size or any shape you’d like before applying to a specific area. I also like that Tegaderm allows you to completely cover the wound for better protection against infection. Happy to say my wound healed with NO infection in a short time.

Worked well. Starting peeling up on some edges immediately but didn't continue to peel. I actually used this over my skin that has keratosis Pilaris, and I often pick at it. So I placed this over my most picked areas to prevent further picking and encourage healing. Worked well. Definitely not comfortable but what do you expect. Taking off wasn't horrible. I used a hair dryer and blew sw.hor air on it little by little. Definitely pull it off by pulling down or straight out! Do not just pull it up!! That will hurt!

This is by far the best type of bandage to use. Purchasing these sheets gives you so much flexibility to address different size wounds. Wounds heal so much faster when using tegaderm than they do with a band aid or nothing at all.

I had surgery and a large mass was removed, and I need to be able to keep it dry as I shower. I don't know how much you can see, but it covers the gauze (not included) and provides a gentle yet waterproof barrier on my skin. It does not irritate my skin at all. This is a very thin, very pliable and somewhat stretchy cover, so if it has to be on a vet curvy surface or fold it will work -as long as it was applied correctly to begin with. When applying, make sure the dressing it is protecting is as thin as possible, skin is very clean, no lotions or dry applications where the adhesive will be. Place it down onto the middle of the dressing and smooth it out going from center to outside, and keep it flat on the skin. Ps- the smaller sizes are wonderful for diabetic sensors .

Great for protecting my tattoos! After a lot of research I decided to change the bandage my tattoo artist had put on my new tattoo. I did this after 2 days, and then kept the Tegaderm on for another 5 days. It protected the tattoo from being accidentally scratched, and kept out dust and dirt. I removed it by carefully applying hot water and peeling it off from the top corner parallel. My tattoo hardly had any flaking and while it did transfer the top layer of the tattoo to the tegaderm (which is normal), none of the actual pigment was removed and my tattoo looks beautiful and bright. You will need assistance putting it on if you have your tattoo on your arms/back etc. The tegaderm needs to lay flat or you risk aribubbles.
