Legacy of the Divine Tarot Review: A Bold & Superb Vision of Tarot - Ciro Marchetti possesses a magnificent vision and the artistic talent to render it exquisitely. His Gilded Tarot and Tarot of Dreams are the stuff of legend - beautifully coloured and textured work packed with endlessly fascinating detail and a deliciously retro-futuristic worldview. His latest effort, The Legacy of the Divine Tarot, which has dazzled and stunned in limited release, is now made widely available in an edition by Llewellyn. Marchetti's art pulses with action, seductively presaging the animations of the cards that he is preparing for his new website. The cards are produced in a style to show the art to advantage, the art fading in a gradient to the black borders. The words on the cards are minimal, which further focuses the eye on the art. The imagery itself is arresting - machines of superb aesthetic beauty manufacturing wonder in environments of striking intensity, elegant human forms in graceful attitudes, vivid scenes that startle and stir the senses, rich jewels, glowing metals, mysterious luminosity revealing situations fraught with meaning. Vision, vibration and archetype take the Tarot in new directions - inward, outward and beyond. The book provides a fascinating back story for the origin of the concept, and the detailed descriptions of the cards and their meanings are written by Marchetti himself as well as RuthAnn and Wald Amberstone (the Tarot School), Leisa ReFalo (the Tarot Connection ), and James Ricklef (Tarot of the Masters) which adds a greater layer of depth and interest. There are spreads and exercises that will enhance both an appreciation of this deck's utility and a shed new light on established Tarot work. Marchetti's magnificently rendered vision marks the dawn of a new day in Tarot Review: Get it! - Thank you, Ciro! This deck is amazing. Not only is it beautiful, it reads like a dream. Clear, concise readings are just a given here...readings flow so smoothly and the "story" unfolds effortlessly. There is an ease about it, a comfortableness that's wonderful and truly a delight. It's a deck that just seems to love having a "conversation" with you. I got my start in Tarot with Ciro's beloved classic 'The Gilded Tarot'. It was the deck I learned Tarot with and it has continued to remain one of my most beloved decks and always most certainly will as I have such a place in my heart for my dear and trusted friend. I can truly say that I have no doubt whatsoever that 'Legacy of the Divine' is sure to accompany my beloved Gilded as a most treasured and trusted deck that I return to time after time without fail. I can absolutely see it joining my Gilded as my now "go-to" DECKS :) The book included is one of the absolute best on the market. I have an ever growing library of books on Tarot and I have to say, 'Gateway to the Divine', the book that accompanies the deck, is in my top 3, hands down. My only and single issue with the book is that it does not provide an accompanying picture of each card in the meanings section, which is a slight disappointment for me as I'm one to throw the book in my bag and read on my lunch break or just whenever I'm on the go. I enjoy glancing over at the picture as I'm reading about the card meanings, mentally noting what the author touches on and explains in the text. For some, it will be of no issue at all and for me, it is only the slightest issue but I did feel the need to mention it. With that said, as a whole, it's a superb book. It gives not only Ciro's take/view on each card but also includes the opinions of several other people as well which, for me, gives such broader points of view for consideration in your readings. Reading their opinions and views along with Ciro's own really opens up each card giving the readings such a fresh aspect that I've never seen or experienced before in a book/card set. Bravo, Ciro...well done! Your work has changed my life, truly.

Beautiful and mysterious.
This is perhaps the most anticipated deck for the Tarot audience. Why? The cinematic trailer of course. I believe this is the first time this ever happened. The artist produced two previous decks, of which I have the Gilded Tarot. This one is an apparent fantasy to the universal origins of the cards. The artist rather pays homage to the legend that the cards came from Atlantis, rather than saying that this was a reproduction of the original. This alone grants me great respect in the "flood" of decks that have been produced. No pun intended. I can see the universality of the cards and how the symbols have been floating around since time immemorial, in our collective dream conciousness. In fact anyone who produces a deck taps into that reality. The deck itself is based on the Rider Waite, being the most popular. This takes the meanings quite further than the century old classic. He accurately adds zodiac and astrological references, something the original never used, which makes this a unique addition. Personally, the card's familiarity are handy, yet another reinterpretation of this deck is tiresome, yet has a place. The art is bordered by a black background that sets the tone for the mystery. Like "sfumato" in Italian painting. The majors all contribute something new to the meanings. This makes it worth taking notice. It is a great place to start at, should this be your first deck. Personally it is my 70th deck. I am a collector. I doubt if I use the deck for readings. That is not to say it is unworthy. In my world there are so many decks, so little time.

This is now my favorite Tarot card deck. I love the rich, jewel toned, bold colors; the images are eye popping and mesmerizing; amazing art work. The fantasy like nature of the art work transports me to another world where the images, figures and scenes tell a story all on their own. They make me think of the performing arts - like theatre, circus, acrobats, dance, music. The minor arcana are all good, the court cards are also good, but my favorites are the major arcana because they are the most striking of all; I love The Moon, Strength, the Star, Judgement, the Hermit, the Magician...but also the Queen of Wands, 3 of Swords, 7 of Wands, etc. The only minor things that I'm not crazy about are that the guidebook is only just okay to me, but I also use lots of other Tarot writers to help in the interpretation of the cards as well as my own intuition. And there is the odd card where I don't like some details on the cards - like the Queen of Swords' hairstyle and I don't like the Lovers card at all... but nonetheless, I use this deck every day because overall, it really speaks to me. I'm really happy with it and I recommend it.
