Direct OEM replacment part - Easy A/C Condensor Fix
No cooling from my A/c and very likely that the fan system on my Trane XR 13 condenser was the potential issue as it was would not spin up and was buzzing when energized. Two screws got me into the electrical panel on the unit. Easy to see from the disfigured and bulging top of the capacitor that it was the likely culprit. A few keyboard strokes got me this exact OEM replacement part ordered at a good price. It arrived the following day, I got to work swapping in the replacement - two clamp screws and four ¼” spade connections - and in less than ten minutes I was again luxuriating in nice cool A/C all within 24 hours from then the issue manifested itself. A quick, simple, A/C repair with OEM parts for less than $20 when a call out charge for an A/C technician in my area is at least $100 and probably least a two or three days delay before getting someone on site. Perfect.

OEM Cap with Improvements
This dual rated cap was on my HVAC system condenser (outside) as an OEM part for a YORK system. I bought the home two years ago and decided it was time to clean up the condensers, and do an inspection. The old caps (2 units) had some rust and corrosion around the top, near the terminals. I assumed it was original (approximately 12 year old home) and figured I change it out rather than wait for a failure. The part, as I said, was an OEM product. The improvement made was that the terminals are labeled now on the cap. Problem was, the original was not labeled. So I clearly marked the wiring and re-installed. Unfortunately I had to install a couple wire connectors, but it was no big deal for me. The product works with the unit thus far without issues. It's what I expected, as it's only a capacitor. Not to much complexity here. But I was happy with both price and functionality.

Easy install
All you have to do is pop off the clips from the old, remove screw holding attaching bracket, place new and secure bracket. Pop on the clips to the new unit and you're in business! Remember to discharge the old capacitor and allow ten minutes for the unit to warm up the coolant then lower (or raise, depending on the time of year) the thermostat to get the system running. Easy peasy!
