Safe working practice.
A clever little item that's perfect for checking the temperature of oil without burning your hands. I wish I had bought it sooner. A good addition to the kitchen.

A useful piece of kit but an awful manual
This works well if you need to verify a temperature instantly (for example, if you're making gelato, which involves egg yolks) but the manual is close to useless, hence my low score. The typeface is very small and there's at least one diagram showing 4 buttons but 5 callouts. Also, as far as I can make out, it's impossible to manually switch off the unit; you have to wait for it to switch itself off - a waste of power.

Seems good.
It seems to work well. Just point and shoot. But the instructions for all the calibrations are very confusing to me. I read over them, then set them down and haven't come back. I need to do that, I guess. But it seems to do that job. I mean, how do you really know whether the temperature is correct?
