So far, so good
I haven't had the compass for very long so I can't speak to how it stands up to wear & tear, but it seems well-constructed. It has a sundial along with degrees so you can measure nautical time or make adjustments for local time (for example, I live about 41 degrees north latitude). The compass is sound and accurately points the direction faced, and it also has a lock so the needle doesn't jiggle around when you don't need it to get your bearing. There is a level on the compass so you can ensure you have a flat surface, as well as some legs so you can steady or mount it. All in all, I'm quite happy with this purchase!

Beyond what I expected
I bought this for Christmas gift for a friend of mine, and she absolutely loved it. I have to say the quality is really good!
