We bought the Costway 10,000 for our Living Room/kitchen/dining area and it did amazing…it did so well we bought the Costway 12,000 to replace the unit in the living room and moved the living room unit to the back of the house.When I tell you these units COOL DOWN your house…I MEAN it and it’s quiet…doesn’t sound like a jet engine.We are in South Louisiana with temps ranging from 105-107 and 120 on the heat index with the humidity. Our AC unit for the house is struggling and our electric bill is astronomical. These 2 units are keeping our house cooler than our AC.I’ll be buying smaller Costway units for bedrooms and for our camper.You cannot go wrong with this brand. I highly recommend it.

This was one of the better air conditioner I have bought. It is on the quieter side.

It turns on and is instantly cold immediately. I can turn and or hook it up just like a normal ac except it is a cheaper alternative and much more convenient with handling it. The fact that it cool and leaves my room dry( a good type of dry)

This is one of the worst products on the market. We only used it a few times before putting it away for the season.When we took it out again, the AC unit would not cool. We did all the recommended troubleshooting, and still no cool air.The manufacturer will not help at all and insists this is an Amazon issue (how? I'm not sure) and since it is after the retun window, Amazon won't retun.Total waste of $400! Save your money, buy a diffrent AC unit!

The media could not be loaded.  We bought this to replace our 14k btu delonghi portable ac unit. It has been very humid in Indiana lately that it would fill-up with water way to fast.This ac unit had a high drain plug for continuous draining which in the video you can see we use a water jug with the hose that came with the unit for humid days. The unit hasn't filled up with water on humid days as it evaporated it all but on humid days we like to use the jug so the ac unit doesn't have to work so hard. This 12k btu ac cools out living room faster than our 14k ever has. The ac unit has 3 fan speeds and the high speed definitely spreads the cool air quickly. Has two filters that can be clean. That's a plus since our last one didn't have a filter on the bottom and this is needed with a house with animals to keep hair out of the coils! Definitely recommend this ac unit!

it puts out cool air and takes time to cool down area. Not very forceful air flow but did cool room almost in general location. The window attachment is way long for my windows and the length is not mentioned in info on website. No foam seal or brackets to attach to anything so the hose frame assembly relies on window and enginuity of owner to get it in place and sealed from outside \ inside air mixing. My frame to which the exhaust corrugated hose attachment fits is cracked apart from end in curved slide 8 inches across this frame so am being careful not to make it worse since the other solid slide piece can't be used in my window. Heavy and awkward to push around if you need to do so. Won't move on pile carpet well at all. My carpet is indoor/outdoor carpet on cement floor so rolls with a bit of effort. This has to do for now as can't afford to get another or send this back as box it came in is shot to heck from getting it out in the first place and can't lift it to get it wrapped in car to take to USPS, UPS or Fedex to return. Since does put out cool air and can cool my room to where my piano will be okay, must use. DISAPPOINTED in so many ways in what claimed and what it does.Instructions say the corrugated pipe is attached to the other parts to attach it to the machine and window slide but not so and was hard to get it attached to them. Used metal duct tape for HVAC. Hose too short if have High window seals like in a garden level or basement or just height at chest level like mine.

I love this portable unit. This looks pretty cool and does its job. I am living in a 2600 sqft house and have 4 rooms. I am living in south California. The electric bill is over $400 in the last summer for using the central AC...Then I am thinking to buy a portable AC in my room to save some money..I know the AC will be out of stock when summer comes so I decide to buy it earlier..Well this one is more powerful than I thought, cool enough, and wind pretty strong..It comes with a remote and also a console on the machine to adjust the wind and temp. The noise is acceptable to me. I will try this a few more days and maybe buy one more for another room. Yay!

Ordered this and was said to be 1-2 weeks delivery. Came 2 days after I purchased it... Seems to be pretty good. People complaining of the noise, um it's an air conditioner and that's what they sound like. It isn't even really noticeable after a few hours. Yes I might have to put the tv sound up a few notches but I'm watching it in a nice cool environment.

I did a lot of research on this product and it's competitors. The first thing you will discover is the reviews overall are not good.The castaway is very noisy, but we've been able to deal with that. The hose and connections are flimsy and it's difficult to mount on your window, the kit is flimsy, I had to use a lot of gorilla tape to help me.We use it in our bedroom and it does keep it very cool at 72 degrees which is the setting. My bedroom is 15 x12, 180 sq feet, it's more than adequate I should have bought a smaller unit but didn't understand the cooling capacity, 8,000 BTU would have been more than ample. I might buy a second unit that's smaller and move my current unit to the living room. I keep the bedroom door closed because I don't want to push the capacity of the unit, I might give it a try. It does a great job taking the humidity out of the room just make sure to set it up for a continuous drip pan. If you dehumidify the room first, it will take a lot less cooling but the de humid fills up in two hours.

The Portable Air Conditioner worked great for one summer but when we had a heat wave this past May, the unit did not work. It only worked like a fan - No cold air being generated. I looked up what the problem may be in the internet and it said to clean the filters. The air filters were clean but I gave it a cleaning anyways. Still no cold air. Some sites said to clean the Evaporator and Water Condensor with a toothbrush. I took the cover off the unit and found that the Evaporator or it could have been the Water Condensor had a dent in the middle and the fins were damaged. This is the first time I took the cover off the unit. Someone who put this unit together at the factory must have put this defective part in or it was a refurbished unit. I checked the Condenser that activated the Compressor anyways and it worked fine. I thought I had just wasted $600.00 for a faulty Portable Air Conditioner. 1 star is for the Costway Portable Air Conditioner. The story is not over.I give 5+ Stars to Amazon. I contacted Amazon and they could not have been more helpful. They told me that they would contacted Costway for me. Costway told Amazon that the warranty was expired. There apparently was just a 6 month warranty. Amazon went back to Costway to ask them to make an exception. Amazon told me not to worry because even if Costway did not refund my money, Amazon would give me a refund. I guess Amazon's appeal worked because I was told to send the unit back to Costway and Amazon issued me a refund. I don't know if Home Depot, Lowes or any other stores would have done what Amazon did. Amazon, you're the best.
