Secure Safety Solutions Gait Belt for Seniors, Transfer Belt with Handles

I’m a physical therapist and I purchased this gait belt last January 2021. I really love this product since it’s very sturdy and durable. Easy access to the grips and I feel secure waking my patients since i can easily grab the grips if needed. Easy use for transfer activities. My patients and their caregivers/family members loved them too and ordered one for themselves. They reported that transfer activities made easy because of this belt and becomes safer since they are not grabbing them by their shoulder/arm which is prone to fracture and/or dislocation. Highly recommended for healthcare professionals who deals with physical activities, transfer and walking activities.

I believe that this is a quality and durable gait belt that is easy to use. I’m an occupational therapist in home care and I recommend this belt to patients and their families. I find that it secures nicely in place and the straps are durable and placed wherever you may need them. Of course, as with any gait belt it may shift at times and need readjustment. All of my patients and their patients have been surprised with how much they like it, ease of use, and are satisfied with the recommendation/purchase. I think it is a very inexpensive product for the quality and use that you get out of it. It has saved many from falls.

This gait belt is one of the best inventions I've run across for helping my mobility challenged mother get around. Just putting it on her gives her confidence to move more because she knows I can grab the loops if she starts to fall. When she is having a bad day, I grab the belt and help her walk by taking some weight off her bad knee. When she is dizzy from one of her health problems, she feels safe because it has so many loops for me to grab. I use it to help her out of chairs, the car, the toilet, etc. Its very well made and people at the dialysis center are jealous of it. I love how easy the belt snaps on and off, too. Her other gait belt is the old fashioned one that you have to put through the buckle every time and adjust that way. This one can be adjusted, but once you have it at the size you like, it will stay that way. Mom is an extra large now and it fits with room to expand.

I like the idea of this lift belt having handles. Might make it easier to grab a hold of. The quality seems good, but haven't needed to use it yet (thank God). I think it will work for helping my mom up. I first purchased one of those wider lift belts, but it didn't work because she is short-waisted with low breasts.

This is my third belt- same model. Every time I take my husband to the hospital the hospital employees love this belt because of the handles. Unfortunately it disappears and I have to replace it. Lesson learned don’t leave it at the hospital.

Well-made, strong materials used on belt itself and all grip handles. The automobile seat belt type buckle provides a secure, yet quick release, fastener.

I had high hopes for this product. My father has been sent home after a long time in institutions after a stroke, right side flaccid. He is heavy, 185-195 lbs. I like the handles on this, but, it is harder to get to the right tightness than a regular gait belt with the metal clip. This one tends to slip around, to where the handles are often on the "wrong" side in the moment. Should have handles all around, then it wouldn't matter. Good attempt. Not a poor product, but could be better.I have been using it for 2 weeks so far. Glad to have it, but not a 5 star item IMO.

Note that the belt is an assist tool. This was easy to use from the get go. I secured it in the car, over a light coat and was able to adjust it quickly and assist immediately and the person I was assisting felt quite secure. When I brought it to the hospital for use instead of the thin canvas belt the PT and OT people were saying: "Where did you get that!" "We want one!" and they preferred using this belt to theirs. It has multiple loops for holding and a secure plastic buckle, which allows for a quick application. The cotton canvas belt which is typically used needs some practice and takes more thought for the nonprofessional. For the person wearing, this belt is is more comfortable than the thinner band. We use the thinner cotton strap for the shower as it dries faster. We use this wide band for general use. It adjust easily if size and fabric changes. I can't say enough about this product. If you have a use for something like this then this is the one to get. IMHO. [g]
