Ark Naturals Soft Shield Protection+ Brushless Toothpaste, Small Breed 28ct

All three of our dogs love these. Not too hard for our elderly girl & her sensitive mouth. Not too soft & crumbly for our quick chewer. Not too big for our Chihuahua. These are the only treats that we can just give straight out of the bag to all of our digs without double checking the size or making adjustments to the size. That gives them extra value when we’re just tired & want to get on with bedtime routine. Also we have had really good dental exams for the last two years since we started using these most days as well as some of the others from this company on occasion. Even our most recent addition showed improvement in the months between his adoption & his first dental so he only lost 3 teeth that were just too far gone. I had worried it would 4-6 when we got him. They don’t smell bad. I don’t feel that these have much smell in comparison to so other dentals. They don’t stain furniture or carpeting. They have proven ingredients. I’ve been using various dental products from this company for many years so I trust their quality & safety.

I normally don't give 5 stars due to nothing is perfect. However, 4 stars just didn't do justice as these seem to really work on my dog's teeth. Have one dog who has tarter all the time and will not allow toothbrushing so these toothpaste treats seem to help do the job. Was getting these at PetSmart but saved a little money with a subscription here. Dogs like the taste and the main ingredient Astaxanthin is beneficial in many ways from my research.

They were not soft but hard but she love them

i’m not even kidding, my dog had the worst breath before I bought these & now he’s got the best breath a dog can have! no smell at all! & our vet said his teeth are the cleanest she’s ever seen! she asked me what I do & im shamed to admit .. it’s just this! my dog hates traditional brushing methods. he is 2 now & when he was losing puppy teeth his breath smelled really awful.. i started giving these for help chewing. & now his teeth are SO WHITE! he loves them too! easiest way to incorporate dental care for your dog. i tell my dog mom friends to buy these but they’re put off by the price. I DONT CARE! i’ll pay! they’re great 😊

These dental chews were advertised as “soft” and for “small” dogs. They are neither. They are huge, and they are very, very hard. I couldn’t even break one with my hands. I had to use a sharp knife to cut it and even that took some effort. Upon cutting, the inside part (the “toothpaste” part) of the chew, separated from the red part. My dog weighs 12 pounds but these are way too big and way too hard for him to consume. I am concerned he might break a tooth eating one, as his teeth are very small and fragile. I was looking for a product to help keep the teeth clean and thought this would be just the thing because it is advertised as being small and being soft, which would have been perfect if only they really were! I’m going to have to give them away now to someone who has a bigger dog. These are NOT for small breed dogs!

My little four-footed girl really likes these. I say, "wanna brush your teeth?", and she shows right up! Thus far, I'd say her teeth look very good. I'm hoping these will help her keep the wee teeth that so many small breeds lose. They are quite pleasant-smelling, and let's face it, they're cute. Couldn't be easier to give them.

My 9lb dog doesn't have a lot of teeth and can still eat these! We've tried OraVet and she'll sometimes eat those too, but she definitely likes these better since they're easier to chew. Ark Naturals are softer, but I would still buy OraVet in addition to these just because they're cheaper overall. OraVet is once per day with 30 per bag. Ark Naturals is twice per day with an unspecified number of dental treats. The bag says 12oz and I haven't kept track of how many we've given her. Maybe 30-35 total? Either way, this is the only dental treat my nearly toothless dog won't turn down. It's a great product, will definitely be buying again soon.

I don't think my senior dog minded the taste but I wouldn't consider this "soft" as he had a very hard time chewing it, even after me breaking it into smaller pieces for him. I do not recommend for older dogs or any dog with sensitive teeth. It could potentially be a good product if it was truly softer and suitable for dogs who have a harder time chewing. It sucks that I missed the return window.
