JUST ONE PROBLEM
My 12 year old is a gifted student according to her teachers. But she had a problem with this book. The print is so small, it hurts her eyes to read it for any length of time. Maybe it is just her. But if others are experiencing the same, then this is a problem with this production. Doesn't effect the content at all. Just make it difficult to read.

on point on a modern middle school
As a middle school teacher, this was absolutely on the mark about what 6 graders are like, how they act, and what tough situations can happen. Main characters were dynamic. The conflict(s) were on par with being relatable to middle level readers. Shoot - I found myself nodding a ton as the teacher because I witnessed so much of what was written. Such great themes throughout. Will be using this within my classroom. Some lines are flagged though due to situational content and slurs. I recommend reading first.

Best modern book on middle school I've read
I bought this book for my 6th grader, who has been riding the razor's edge between being "funny" and being mean for too long. He was on restriction, and the deal was that we would read this together and discuss it before he could go out.He and I agreed that this was the most realistic book about today's middle school kids that we've ever read. The characters were well developed - no heroes here. It addressed bullying, overuse of technology, failure of middle school advisors to address problem kids, divorce, and the changing nature of friendship that middle school often brings. It was moving for me as an adult and my son was fully invested as well. It lead to some really meaningful discussions for us. Highly recommend.

Great Middle Grade Book
Cell phones have been banned at Branton Middle School so Frost, Deedee, Wolf, & Bench along with the rest of the students at Branton Middle School are forced to come up with a new way to communicate. To combat the new rule Frost and his friends begin posting sticky notes on each other's lockers and suddenly the whole school has caught on. As everyone begins posting notes on each other's lockers a war begins. With every funny and encouraging note being posted there is a cruel note being given to someone else. As the sticky note “fight” continues Frost finds his friend group beginning to splinter as the school's new girl tries to make her way in.I LOVED this book!! I think that this is a book that should be in every single middle/intermediate school classroom! John David Anderson did a great job of showing all the feelings and emotions that kids have around middle school and transition! This book will forever be in my classroom library!

Good MG/YA
What would happen if a school banned all mobile phones? As someone who works in a high school I relished the idea that is presented in John David Anderson’s middle grade novel – Posted. Mobile phones are a bloody pain in the bum. The time it takes to tell the child to put it away, the subsequent argument, then the removal of the phone from the student and then the subsequent argument, then the phone call to the parent and what do you know, the subsequent argument. Yes, I feel that phones should be banned in schools. What John David Anderson points out is that young adults are savvy, and they will find a way and in a sort of devolution the students of Branton Middle School resort to post it notes. Essentially, life goes on but in the tradition of school – kids are mean and the arrival of new girl Rose shows us jjust how mean people can be. Is the fight to get access to phones really worth it when people get hurt along the way.I really enjoyed Posted. It shows how quickly and easily people can fall into a life of bullying and how you really need your people around you to make sure that you get through high school unscathed.Posted by John David Anderson is available now.
