This fire pit is amazing. It is smokeless once it gets going and puts out quite a bit of warmth for chilly evenings. It burns so well that there's very little ash left to empty. I have used wood and wood pellets in it. East Oak has wonderful customer service. I had a small issue with the fire grate and contacted the company. They emailed me right back and within 24 hours a replacement part was being shipped. Highly recommend this fire pit.

I just got this in 2 days ago. That night I tried it for the first time. A couple years ago I bought a normal fire pit. I only had used it twice in the past years as it was hard to get a fire going in it. it sits covered on my patio. I went out the other night with my new 17 inch East Oak. I put a small paper bag and 4 pieces of kindling in and lit it. within 2 minutes it was burning like a charm. Put several splits on it and had a great campfire going. So easy to enjoy within minutes. I planned to use it last night, but a long thunderstorm ended those plans. Two years of my other fire pit sitting unused, and I was already looking forward to my second night with this new one. I even went a bought a bag of marshmallows for the first time in years. It burned for several hours on just the 3 splits and an unsplit 3 inch diameter chunk. I went out yesterday morning to do the excellent setup it has for the ash dump. It incinerates the wood into fine ash that is on a tray and pan that you pull out with the provided fire tool. You can pt it in a metal trash can, even though it was completely cold, or use it in compost. Came back and picked up the 13 pound base and dumped the trace amount of ash left out. At 72, bringing back the feeling of being 25 and sitting around a campfire that isn't a load of work to get going is priceless. To have that for less than $60, at the time. is worth every penny. On the East Oak site this is selling for $187! Hoping the weather cooperates tonight so I can enjoy a few toasted marshmallows again. Another great thing about this is I can easily put it in the trunk of my car with some wood and have a fire any place it won't get stolen before I can dump the ash the next morning.

Being a little shorter allows us ro see the coals, which make ours fires more relaxing to sit by!

Hard to burn anything but sticks in it unless you cut and chop into real small pieces. It does burn hot, sides and bottom. Killed my grass underneath. Burns down quick and since you have to constantly refill, it smokes a lot due to new added wood catching. Not exactly what I expected by the videos I watched. I wanted to avoid a lot of smoke.

Absolutely love this smokeless fire pit. Works great low smoke easy to ignite wood burns great and puts out a nice amount of heat. Highly recommend.
