Best. Pillow. Ever
I bought this pillow on a whim at my kids' allergy doctor appointment. The office was shared with a chiropractor, and they were have a Christmas special: buy one, get one half off. The desk girls had personally not tried it, nor received any feedback on them. I took it home and tried the medium amount of water recommended. The next night, I tried the most water. The 3rd night the least. On the fourth night I added a little less than their recommended "minimum amount" and was SO SOLD on the product I went back to the doctor office and asked if they would sell me a 2nd at the half off deal. They did! Now I can roll over onto my husband's side of the bed and not get a crick in my neck.BEST INVESTMENT IN YEARS.I had been happy with a previous pillow but had washed it so many times I could not not read the label any more! Where did i buy it?? What brand was it?? I spent a stupid amount of money on over a dozen different types and thicknesses of pillows over the next 6 years and some would work for a short time before I would wake up with a sore neck that would last for DAYS with an accompanying headache.I, like other reviewers here, considered expensive diagnostic tests to figure out what was wrong with ME. Turns out it was just a pillow issue! I have had my pillow now for 6 years and just went on a trip to a humid area for 3 weeks and came back with mold on my pillow case- I shower at night and my hair was still damp in the mornings. I tried spraying the pillow with bleach, which helped but didn't remove the spots entirely. I had a spare in my closet (cuz I dread a possible night's sleep without one, should I ever need a replacement and find them all back ordered or something equally horrific!). I figured the washing machine was worth a shot- I could break out the spare replacement if I had to. The front loading washing machine tried for an hour to spin and drain the last 3 minutes of the cycle and I just finally gave up and let it finish air drying. Next morning I could see that it was a blob of pillow innards in a wad on one end of the case. Oh well! I pulled out the new replacement from the plastic bag in my closet and found that it had another name (panic! A quick check showed they were the same company though: previously "Floating Comfort" by Mediflow. Now just "Mediflow" was printed on the non-removable case), and it was WAY thicker-seeming than my wadded blob I was replacing. However, I now had no alternative (name any commercial, brand name, anchor store brand pillow and chances are I've tried it!) So I slept on it. All I can say is, I was unaware of my head/ neck while sleeping and I have been unaware of my head/ neck during the day all 3 days I have used it. Maybe my older version of the same pillow had just gotten compacted over the last few years of use? I don't know, but I'm coming on here to 1) buy my next replacement and 2) get the little case so maybe I can avoid the mold issue in the future. I literally take my pillow with me on all over night trips or else just anticipate a sore neck/ headache during my trip. Here were my initial concerns:1) I didn't want to have to replace water weekly/ daily/ monthly -but GOOD NEWS! It only has to be replaced once a year!2) I didn't want to have to go out and buy fancy water. The water where I live is very hard and even with a filter and softener system it destroys things in short order. But- I can just use water from the tap! No fancy distillation, filters or spring water required! Yay!Additionally, my daughter suddenly developed a sore neck when she turned 18. She was saving all her money up for college, but I told her she needed to spend some of her money on this pillow anyway. She finally broke down and bought it and was instantly glad that she did! So don't assume it's only for us 30-and 40-somethings (and beyond!) It can be beneficial for the younger crowd, too!I followed the directions- I have never had any issues with leaking, and the water level stays consistent until your yearly water swap!

Held up for 9 years!
Hello 2025. I have purchased this pillow in 2016.. I did not realise that it has been in fact that long. I’m actually moving and decided that it’s time for me to dispose of this old one and buy a new one when I saw that it has been nearly 10 years and this pillow has been holding up so amazingly well. (I don’t know what kind of miracle stuffing they use but it is the only pillow that stayed in shape for nine straight years.), I was left speechless. 2016??? Holy Molly. This is pretty darn gross I have to admit but the fact that I did not even realise that it was that old because the functionality of it never diminished- should speak for itself. Which is why I’m stopping my packing and writing this review because I feel like I owe it to the company!!!!

MDF1006 - Waterbase Pillow Standard, 20 x 28...
This is the third MedFlow water based pillow that I've had. I bought the first one in the mid-nineties when they were fairly new and the chiropractor I had at the time recommended it. I've been so sold on these pillows since that first one that this one I just purchased is my third. The first two each lasted approximately 10 years. And I haven’t used any other pillow since. It is the only pillow that I've had that allows me a good night’s sleep without waking up in the morning with neck or shoulder pain. Now with that said if you've never had a water based pillow before and you’re thinking of trying one let me give you some insight from experience. If you’re someone who wants to just pull the pillow out of the box, fill it with water and expect to sleep like a baby the first night you could find yourself disappointed. You may need some patience with this pillow if you don’t get a good night’s sleep the first night. You also may need some attention to detail. First you need to understand that it may take a few night of adjusting the water in the pillow to get it to the point that it is comfortable for you. If you don’t have the patience then you’ll end up frustrated and disappointed that you spent money on it. Second, if you find you do need to adjust the pillow you may want to pay attention to how much water you add or remove from the pillow when you’re adjusting it. As little as an ounce of water added or removed will significantly change how the pillow feels, at least that is what I've found over the years of having them. You have to be willing to play with to get it just right. The good news is once you reach that point you won’t have to do anything more.I've had people ask about the water inside and mold and what have you. I just emptied my second pillow before throwing it out. There was not one sign of mold or any smell to the water when I emptied it and the pillow was as I stated earlier about 10 years old. Unlike one reviewer's recommendation to use a little bleach, I have never added anything to the water and the water always comes out as clean as was the day I added it. Actually, I would hesitate to add anything additional to the water whereas it may damage the inside water chamber over time and potentially reduce the life of the pillow but that is just my opinion. Both my first and second Mediflow pillows lasted 10 years of every night use and were only replaced due to leaks they developed as a result of age.I just received my third pillow yesterday and slept on it for the first night last night. The quality of these pillows is still there and once I filled it to where it was comfortable for me, I slept soundly and got up this morning without one ounce of neck or shoulder pain. I can’t recommend them enough to people providing they understand that sometimes a little patience provides a huge payback in feeling good in the morning when you get up.One other thing mentioned by other reviewers was that the pillow had a slight smell to it when it was removed from the box. The pillow I received had no noticeable smell. I filled it, put it on the bed and slept on it the first night without a problem.I'd without hesitation give this pillow more than 5 stars if I could! I hope this helps anyone whose considering purchasing one.
