Cured my metatarsalgia!!
After overdoing treadmill and elliptical machine in my old running shoes, I began having metatarsal pain in my left foot. It got to the point where even wearing cushioned slippers was not enough to prevent the pain. At first I used gel cushions under the ball of my foot, which seemed to help but these things were what really did the trick!!I was skeptical, not really thinking that wearing a cushion behind the area I was experiencing the pain would help... but I was so wrong!!These things allowed me to continue moderate cardio as i healed, and after a couple weeks all pain was gone even without the inserts!!Be sure you place them in the correct position behind the ball of your foot but before your arch. They DO NOT go underneath the ball of your foot like a cushion! They work by spreading your toe bones out and need to go just behind the ball of your foot. I also use arch support inserts and stuck these babies onto the end of them so I was able to wear both my heel/arch support insert and these things at the same time.In the beginning they do take some practice to get into the right position and then getting them to stay while you put your foot into the shoe. I loosened my laces all the way so I could be sure I placed them in the right position. Then I very carefully slid my feet in while holding onto the pad under my foot. I stood and tied my laces. I never had them move around as I wore them, whether I was jogging or doing the elliptical, etc.The first few times they did want to scoot around as I took my shoes on and off so I would reposition it and hold it in place when putting my feet in. But the more I wore them the more they stuck. After a few times, they stayed in place on their own but I can still take them out if I want.Whatever the bottom stuff is, it doesn't feel very sticky, but it works.Love these things!!! Just read the directions and watch a YouTube video if necessary to ensure you wear them correctly and to see tips!

Everything about this could have been better.
Packaging is dumb, you have to destroy the instructions to get to the product. What instructions are there are completely inadequate. It's impossible to properly align these inside a sneaker. If you manage it the adhesive is worthless even in first application so don't expect them to stay in place. If all the stars and planets align they provide some relief, not near enough to justify having them. I work 8 hour standing shifts as a security guard and use this brand religiously, I expected better.

Working for me
I saw a lot of the complaints were about it not sticking well. I removed my insole and stuck it to the inside of the boot. Then put the insole back. It's not moving on me so far.Edit: my first attempt wasn't successful. I had trouble finding the right placement. However, sticking them to the bottom of the insole and standing on it while also simulating taking a step worked much better.

Do Not Stay in Place
Very comfortable but unfortunately these do not stay in place and move so I’m unable to continue to use these which is disappointing. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend them otherwise they were comfy.

Sweet Metatarsal Pads
I purchased a pair of Sketcher's athletic shoes and a pair of Sketcher's Massage Fit sandals as I believe they have the best comfortable support for my feet. I inserted my orthotics in the athletic shoes and I stuck Dr. Scholl's metatarsal pad in my sandals just below the ball of my foot. After several days of walking in both shoes, I realized that my left foot which had a swollen nerve did not hurt anymore and my right foot and heel pain had greatly diminished. The metatarsal pad does as it is supposed to in relieving the pressure from the ball of my foot and that makes me happy so I can get back on my feet and back to my active life. My foot doctor told me that a lot of advertisements show the wrong position in wearing the met pad and advised me of the correct position, which is directly below the ball of the foot; not on the ball of the foot. I will add a photo in the next couple of days showing the met pads in my Sketchers sandals.

Won't Stay In Place Causing Worse Foot Pain
I work standing on concrete all day. I bought these to help with foot pain on the balls of my feet. The first day they helped a lot. But... Starting on day two they kept slipping around inside my shoe and made things worse. The glue or tape or whatever adhesive they use to try and secure the pads to the shoe failed miserably in my case. Day three, I threw them out and got something else.

help support the ball of the foot
Bought these to help reduce pain in the ball of my foot. Interestingly, you don't place these pads under the ball of your foot which is what I thought, but you place them just behind the ball of your foot close to the start of the arch of your foot. They offer support and help in reducing impact from the ball of your foot. I found the right spot and adhered the pads to my shoe footbed inserts. Feel a little odd at first, but you can see and feel how these will reduce direct foot bed strikes when walking and running. Good product for a common problem.
