does the job
When I need something other than a tape measure this does the job. I can put in my crime scene bag and I have something that is sturdy. When I need to take longer measurements I have a coworker stand further out with this and use my laser measure and can be used as a level point. This does the job for what I needed, and other jobs as well.

I especially like the 90 degree detents
I've only been using this Rhino Ruler for a few days, but I already like it.I prefer inside-reading folding rules as do most electricians. You can lay the ruler flat on the ground. The still folded sections don't lift the ruler off the ground as they are on top. This rule is inside-reading on both sides and also reads left to right on both sides.I have an old Lufkin inside-reading rule that reads left to right on one side and right to left on the other. I don't like it and almost never use it. My Lufkin that I've been using for 50 years is left to right on both sides like this Rhino Ruler. That's my lifelong preference. The joints are stiff, but I assume they will loosen with time. The 90 degree detents are especially useful for measuring something over my head. I just set the needed length of the rule at 90 degrees and raise it up to the area I need to measure, something you can't do with a tape measure unless you can actually reach the area you need to measure. The composite sections are noticeably thicker than my wooden Lufkin and feel like plastic, which they are but the overall stiffness is almost the same as the Lufkin. I really like the feel of wood, but I'll get used to this "plastic" ruler as it works as well for me as my old Lufkin.Measurement accuracy is slightly different from my other tools. It's 1/16" longer than my Lufkin and 1/32" shorter than a steel tape measure I happen to have in a drawer. Close enough for me.

Easy to read and feels like a quality product
There are times where a tape is not the best choice. Thi product snaps into place and is easy to read.

Decent product
These rules are a decent product. So far they appear to be more durable than wooden rules but are fragile ir care is not taken to avoid impact damage. The detents that hole the rule straight are good at first but tend to wear over time.

Works well
It's taking me a little to get used to it as it's replacing a wood rule and as it's new it's still a bit stiff, but other than that (that's to be expected anyway) I'm very happy with it.

Better than tape
I need the straight edge and prefer the fold to the ever-dysfunctional tape measure.

Easy to fold and unfold
I almost refrained from buying this when I read the review saying the joints were too stiff and that folding and unfolding the rule was difficult. I have not found this to be true at all, and am therefore pleased that I went ahead with the purchase. I haven't had it long enough to comment on long-term durability, but I like the fact that it's fiberglass, as I think fiberglass will probably hold up longer than wood. At this point it appears to have been an excellent buy.
