Pretty cool little contraption. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Honestly can't say if it works because no one has tried to break down my door but I do feel more secure.

It feels strong for a door stopper. Quick and easy to secure a door. A sledge hammer looks like it could compromise this unit but someone pounding your door with a sledge hammer should alert you and give you enough time to prepare against an intruder. Everyone should have a counter defensive plans against all kinds of ways to break into your space including what to do when intruders defeat your first line of defense. Walk around your home and use your imagination on how easy it is to break windows, use ladders or crawl through spaces to enter your home and you will be alarmed at how easy it is to break into your home or business. This Master Lock Door Stopper is just ONE WAY to protect yourself but it is NOT enough to defend your entire property....

I bought both versions for some teachers concerned with the increasing correlation between idiots and guns. The folding version is a little shorter than it's non-portable counterpart, almost small enough to put in a normal school or work bag. The main problem is that the design and manufacture of the folding version seems to have been done by an entirely different team (perhaps the same team with impossible product pricing goals). The biggest disappointment is the pins which hold it together, in the non-folding version the pins are spring loaded into the inner cylinder. This is a great design particularly with the double row of holes on the outer cylinder which allows someone to quickly deploy with a lot of holes to find if you're worried about other things. The folding version has pins which are completely separated from anything else. These pins are pushed through the cylinders and have small spring loaded pins which seem like they were designed to keep the pins from falling back out, but they are absurdly weak. So much so that I worry that if you treated this as a portable device it's probable that a significant proportion of users would find that the pins had fallen out somewhere along the way. I'm just going to replace the cheap parts but I wouldn't have made the purchase if I knew it was going to be so cheaply made/designed. I do recommend the less portable one, and it would be pretty easy to tuck into a poster tube in the corner of a classroom or carry about without much attention.

High quality materials used. Strong. Many uses to secure doors. Works very good.

Used to support an apartment door with a wood veneer floor. Its easy to setup, put in place, remove. In place it’s sturdy and better than the usual small lock used on hotel apartment doors. I bought this as a gift for a relative who lives alone. Good value.

Low tech and gives peace of mind overnight. Light and easy to set up in 5 seconds and take away in the morning. Nothing will stop someone willing to break down the door, but makes it much harder to get in without making lots of noise to warn us to take actions. Folds up so we might use for hotels.
