First I'd like to say, I retired in 2010. I was an instrumentation technician with one of the largest companies in the world. In the 70's & 80's we spent $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 to get the accuracy this $12.00 dollar instrument gives! I purchased 3 different brands from Amazon to be used side by side. The ThermoPro TP55 is +/- 1 > 2 RH of the others. In my experience the difference is a nothing burger... One of the other brands is 3 > 5 RH of the others. This error is still acceptable for what I'm doing. I've heard some really denegrating reviews on Amazon. I think the users either got a defective instrument OR didn't do this: When using these intruments install and don't touch for 24 hours (48 is better). This allows sufficient time for the thing to acclimate and stabilize. Buy more then 1 brand (they're cheap, don't u be too!). Compare the output, then send the unit/s back that differ too much. The units that match and u think they're wrong... well that happening is like getting hit twice by lightning :-(.

I received this on January 8, 2018, three days ago. I thought I ordered a new item but it appears to be a used item and the humidity monitor is flawed. There was no plastic to remove from covering the screen as stated in the operating directions. I tested it using my other humidity monitor which listed the room at 64 percent humidity while this listed humidity at 29 percent. The temp outdoors was 38 degrees at the time and humidity outdoors was 82 percent on an overcast morning with a forecast of rain. Indoor temp was 65. I am looking to return it for a new one that is at least close to accurate. Temp is close, and time is accurate for now. I will update based on future exchange/return results.UPDATE: January 25. I contacted the company right after writing the original review and they were very helpful. I received a second one just about 4 days later that records humidity somewhat better. All else works well! The contact person was very kind, polite and helpful. I will have no hesitation ordering from them in the future.The temperature and time is nice to have

I just received these (2) about 2 hours ago. I put in batteries right away, set the clock and set them out. The clock does not work, it won't seem to go past the hour I set them at, only the minute changes. The minute isn't even correct either. They started out saying 52% humidity (I am in Vegas) out of the box. Does that sound right?? Now they have been sitting in my house for over an hour and go between 51% and 52%. I am going to sit 1 outside and see if it goes any lower. It is 1:44pm, and the humidity is on the high side for Vegas because it rained yesterday, but the weather app says it is 20% outside right now (normally it is about 12% at this time of day). I will update after I have left it outside for atleast 30 minutes.30 minute update when this is outside= it says 26%. So that means it is 6% off. That is NOT good. That is a lot when thinking of the humidity in your home! As far as the temperature goes, it said 99.5, but it is 102 outside. It cannot even get that right. These were a waste of money.Oh I didn't really describe the other one, but the 2nd one seems to work ok, but the one I described above is trash.UPDATE. They sent me a new 1 to replace the bad 1. The new one works good, and they have GREAT customer service!

I got this as a lightening deal and it hasn't failed me, I have a humidifier in my room and after a few hours the humidity changed so to my knowledge it seems to be doing its job, good buy.

Instead of a comfort face, how about putting the date there, below the time? I can tell if I'm comfortable or not. I have not calibrated the RH reading yet, but it's 2% off from my humidor hygrometer. I haven't calibrated that one in years, so I'll do both and edit this review when complete. Temperature seems accurate enough and matches or is very close to other sensors I have. The display is clear and viewing angles are great. High quality LCD on this one. I would recommend this to a friend. It is also nice and slim with a robust stand if you aren't hanging it (it has a hole to hook on a wall), I'm using it to keep an eye on temperature in the office where I work. -1 star for the comfort indicator. I feel like the date should be there instead, though I'm sure someone appreciates it?

Used this to check the humidity levels in the basement, and the effectiveness of a dehumidifier. I don't have a basis of comparison for accuracy, but it gives me a reading that is consistent with the room feel, so I at least have a ballpark idea of the percentages.The temperature gauge is consistent with my thermostat readings, would have preferred the time display to be removed for a larger humidity display, but at this price it serves its purpose well.

The temperature is OFF +3 and the hygrometer -8. Apparently this company keeps trying to sell the item I received to some unwitting sap that won't bother returning it. The original box of mine was obviously re-taped and re-sold possibly more than once because the face of the unit looked OLD with smears and scratches all over. Time to let it go, AnyPro.... It's a dud.

These work very well. Like some of the other reviews, they may be a degree or percent off when placed side-by-side but I really don't need that degree of accuracy. I'm using them throughout the house - living room, office, basement - to keep an eye on things. It's been great in the basement to help me keep the humidity down with a standard dehumidifier, and also in the main rooms of the house during the humid summer months. The clock is a nice addition as well. If you're looking for something that gives pinpoint accuracy, you're going to have to shell out for it. However, if you want something easy to read with good accuracy (and a clock) for a good price then these are for you.
