Replacement Remote for Roku Players and Roku TVs, for Roku Box, Roku 1 2 3 4, Roku Express/+, Roku Premiere/+, Roku Ultra and TCL Hisense Onn Element Sharp Roku TV with Blue Glow Case and Battery

The original remote that came with our Roku was a slippery little devil and fell one too many times to the floor. It gave up the ghost far too easily.For a while, we made do with a universal remote that we had on hand. It kinda-sorta worked with the Roku, but mostly it was an exercise in frustration.Then I started using the Roku app on my phone. That worked, but I don’t always want to have my phone handy.So, several months after the death of Original Remote, I splurged on this replacement and am glad I did. It works just as good as the original remote, and it comes with a protective case that has cat ears and a retaining strap (I guess the strap is supposed to be the Roku-remote-cat’s-tail?)It did need to be programmed, but once I deciphered the instructions, it was simple. For reference, I’m using this remote with a Roku Express 4K+ (model 3941X).

I bought this remote to keep on my side of the bed and it works on our Roku Ultra without interfering with the original remote control. It is not a wifi remote so I pulled the Roku to the front of the shelf so that it was easy to aim this remote at the Roku. In other words, you need a direct line of sight between the remote and the Roku. It works fine for volume and on/off for the Samsung TV. The directions were easy to understand. The Home Button works fine. No more looking for the remote! The glow in the dark part is faint on mine.

The instructions it works for a Roku Ultra, but it only shows how to set it up as a 2-in-1 combo with a TV. My TV is old so it's not going to program to the TV. I only want to program it to work with the Roku itself. There are no instructions on how to do this (or if you even can), and there's no website to go to for help.Edit: I was able to get it to work. Not sure what I did. Slamming buttons made it start working.

I found I do have to hold the buttons down for a tinier bit longer than the original, but this has some nice features - more instant channel buttons, etc.

We love our replacement remote! We’ve not tried the voice recognition, as I didn’t even realize it until I got to looking posting the review. Also, the glow-in-the-dark aspect doesn’t work all that well, tho the piece does give excellent gripping of the remote, so urs nowhere near a bad thing to have.Regardless, highly recommended!
