Astronomy is better off because of Maria Mitchell.

Amazing insight to an amazing human being. She broke down so many barriers and we know so little of her. It's wonderful to learn about her right from her own words.

Many of her insights were interesting but you had to go through a lot of weeds to get to them. What I found most interesting were her comments regarding faith and race from a historical perspective. As one might expect, Maria Mitchell has sound advice for our education system that are as applicable today as then.
