The Fiat Standard: Debt Slavery Alternative to Human Civilization: The Debt Slavery Alternative to Human Civilization

Fascinating and devastating: Easily one of the most important books of the last 100 years.
Anyone who thinks even just a little bit knows that there is something deeply wrong in modern society. And they likely intuit that none of the popular explanations for our global societal malaise really stack up. Politicians are masters of assigning blame: Immigration; foreigners; systemic racism, billionaires (something that just 30 years ago were as rare as a unicorn); “greedy” corporations; bankers; the media; “misinformation”; too much taxation; too little social support and on and on it goes. But few of us have better answers. The Fiat Standard is that better answer. It is no less than a unifying theory of the rot at the heart of modern civilisation and what can fix it.The Fiat Standard searingly cuts through the media and political noise that deranges public discourse and delivers a devastating takedown of the very foundation of the misnamed “rules based international order”: A thoroughly corrupt monetary system. It’s a slow read in that almost every page triggers a surge of realisation and reflection as the reader relates the book’s arguments to their own experiences and observations and is shown the connections between seemingly unrelated problems. The devaluation of education; the corruption of academia; the decline in social mobility; two world wars and the growing risk of a third one, whatever form it might take; increasing inequality both among nations and within nations; a pandemic of political corruption; the reason you can’t afford a house like your parents had; rampant consumerism; obesity; the breakdown of the family; the inexorable expansion of the power of the State over every aspect of your social and economic life; the ever intensifying cycle of bubble and bust and the ensuing bailouts of the mega corporations that just get bigger and bigger and more powerful - all of it has its roots in the fiat standard. If you think that sounds fanciful, ask yourself: compared to what? Sure, more proximate causes can be identified for each one of these things examined superficially in isolation but ask yourself: Why has all of it been happening in a single 100 year period?By the time you get to the end of the book, the truth of it is obvious. The clarity of the conclusions are literally blinding as it dawns on the reader the extent to which the rise of Bitcoin is by far the single most important and hopeful phenomenon happening in the world today. Before Bitcoin there wouldn’t have been much anyone could have done about the omnishambles that is our global monetary system and the horrifying perversity of the incentives and outcomes it produces. The power of the ballot is a useless, illusory, periodic release valve for public anger. If you’re wealthy enough, you could move to another political jurisdiction. Good luck finding one you can afford to move to that isn’t just another variant of the same virus. The cartellisation of global political power into supra national institutions means continues to batter the feasibility of that option anyway. You can rage against it on social media but - good luck with that. You’d be far more likely to get censored than to meaningfully effect political change. But with Bitcoin, everyone can contribute to starving the system by simply stepping out of it, and protect themselves and their families in the process.Maybe this review is hyperbolic. Maybe naively optimistic. But if that’s true, then human civilisation really is f****d.Do yourself a favour: Read this book and act accordingly. Do your kids a favour: Get them a copy, preferably before you place them into the indoctrination matrix of modern education.

Completely Awesome Read 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤓👍
Safedean does it again, The Fiat Standard is an absolutely amazing follow-up book to The Bitcoin Standard. The reason being is because the Fiat standard really delves into the detail of how the fiat currency system works as well as its major downfalls, which are not told us by our governments deliberately. What I really enjoyed about this book was the way that it not only goes into so much detail but also shows in great detail, how bitcoin works, what Bitcoins core features are, and how Bitcoins core features counter the negative impacts of the current Fiat system to ensure it has global free market dominance which has a positive impact for the people who hold and store Bitcoin. The Fiat standard also talks about the upcoming CBDCs (Central bank digital currencies) and how they are going to impact peoples lives unfortunately for the negative and benefit the government and who the government also chooses to be on the receiving end of the benefit as well. Subsequently allowing government to pick and choose who can move up the social hierarchy more easily.

Must Read!
This is a must read for anyone that wishes to join the dots between our current financial system and the cost of energy, net zero, waste from industrial production into the food supply chain, seed oils, the quality of our soil and so much more.

Represents a pivotal moment in the history of human civilisation
Everything that was difficult to make sense of in today’s upside down world taken over by weird post-modernist minorities and climate catastrophists, now makes sense. How did we get here? This book explains it. You must read The Bitcoin Standard first though. Once you know these books exist, not reading them would be a conscious act of stupidity. They will help you change your life to support yourself through the coming decades of economic and cultural turmoil. They’re also a delight to read - page turners full of draw-dropping facts threaded into a compelling and utterly convincing narrative. Buy!

A bit disappointed…
I really enjoyed the authors first book and follow him on Twitter - his first book is justifiably held up as a must read to anyone looking to get into this space and I had been very excited about the release of this oneUnfortunately this book for me, didn’t live up to my expectations- I felt a lot of the arguments here just seemed like a bit of a messy tirade, trying to link every world problem with our current monetary system without providing much real world data or statistics. There are plenty of fantastic books out there that inform readers about this fascinating space and this one certainly is worth reading, but not before you’ve worked your way through many of the other top reads first

How do you measure your life's energy?
Education on the legacy financial system and the harm that the system has caused to our wellbeing and wealth is crucial. 2008 was a catalyst for my layman education on the subject. My children and hopefully theirs too will benefit from this education. Once you see unfortunately there is no way to unsee. We have been done.No more.
