Does this work well on Soda Cans?

I I have used this same configuration can over for over five years but I have never opened a SODA CAN/ only BEER Cans. It works great!

Will this work on cans of cat food?

Yes I open my cat & dog food cans with this.

Does this work well on sardine and octopus tins?

I have never opened a sardine or an octopus tin. The Easy Open Ring Pull Can Opener works very well on nationally known soup and broth cans using very simple physics. You slip the opener into the ring and then allow the rounded portion to act as a fulcrum as you apply pressure using the handle; the lid pulls off quite easily with a gently pressure. I would suggest going to your food store and comparing your tin(s) to the soup cans. You should be easily able to ascertain whether the product would work for you by a logical comparison. The opener is a great simple product, which also makes a nice small gift.
