How much is this game like Boss Monster?

The short answer - Not at all! The longer answer - and in being completely honest, the game was inspired by Boss Monster’s promised concept of bringing a classic video game to the table top. We own Boss Monster. We like Boss Monster. But as retro video game fans, we felt Boss Monster was a tabletop card game wearing only the skin of an NES game. Super Hazard Quest tries to actually recreate that classic side scroller feeling on the tabletop. Rule wise, the games couldn’t be more different. Though purely from an aesthetic standpoint, both games draw from similar inspiration.

How long Is a normal game?

For two players playing for the first time, took us ~20 to 30 miuntes. Most of the time was figuring out the not-so-clear rules.

Can a single player game be played without the expansions (which are all sold out currently on the website)?

The only way to play a single player game is with the single player expansion. The expansion was sold via the website, but is currently sold out. You can try emailing superhazardquest@gmail.com and asking when they'll have more in stock, or if they know another way to get one.

Can this be played solo?

You cannot play the main game solo but there is an add on pack you can buy through hazard quests website
