St Dominic was born in 1842 in Turin, Italy. His father was a blacksmith, and he had 9 brothers and sisters. He joined St John Bosco's group of followers at age 12 and helped him work poor boys who lived on the street. Dominic had a strong desire to be a priest. He was also an excellent organizer and peacemaker. He founded a group of boys called the Company of the Immaculate Conception who helped John Bosco with manual labor. This group of boys went on to become the first member's of the Salesian order, founded by John Bosco. St Dominic died at age 15. His final words were "What beautiful things I see!".
