I originally gave this monocular 3 stars because it's functional for some things and probably not for others. However after using it almost daily for about five months and getting to know it, I had to modify my review and rating. While there are many other IR monoculars that perform better than this, I still think for the money it isn't a bad deal depending on what you are using it for. If you are looking for weapons grade stuff, this is not it. I got it for recording the skies and for that purpose, it works ok. I use this to record the skies in IR mainly to catch objects moving. I use this in conjunction with other cameras and equipment so it works for me as kind of a lower budget, secondary or tertiary camera.When I first wrote this review I felt that the resolution was not good at all. I think that I was being a little too harsh on it because I am mainly using it to look at the sky. When you use this as it is intended, the resolution is actually not that bad. Still not 4K by any means but it's definitely good enough to see details of things depending on range obviously. It does have manual focus which can be a little tricky at first but once you find the sweet spot for the range you are looking at, it works fine.It records video in 10 minute chunks which is nice for my editing purposes. I get approximately 1-1.25 of straight filming time before the battery runs out after a full charge. Again, for my uses I wish it would last longer but it's important to note that the camera will record video while it's plugged in. Once I found that out, I was recording the skies for several hours at a time. It only takes up to 32gb Micro SD cards which doesn't sound like much but you can hold approximately 40 ten minute long videos before you run out of the 32gb memory.So all in all, for my purposes, this IR monocular could be better but could also be worse. I would probably buy it again if I had to. Hope this helps!*It's now August 2022 and I have had this monocular for approximately five months. I use it almost daily and nightly to record different parts of the sky. Sometimes in IR and sometimes not. Finding the sweet spot with the manual focus is tricky (when using it to record the sky it can be) so I used a marker to put marks on the outside of the focus knob to help with that. I have had no major operational issues with camera. I am happy to say that it has functioned as advertised, even under constant recording which is great for me. Until two days ago. After a recording session with several cameras of different types, manufacturers and different prices, I retrieved my cameras to find an extreme amount of condensation only on the inside of the lens of this camera. The outside of the lens was completely clear. I brought it inside in hopes that it would simply dry out. I put near a fan, in dry area and the condensation is still there. The camera still functions but you cannot see anything due to the condensation. I reached out to Creative XP and explained my situation to them. I thought maybe I can buy another lens piece or I could send it to them so they could repair it. In the back of my mind I honestly was going to just put it in the books as a loss but I wasn't too upset as it wasn't as expensive as some of the other IR cameras and I have gotten a lot of use out out of it. To my surprise, Creative XP is sending me a brand new IR monocular. So I updated my review not only because they are giving me another monocular for free, but because after using it day in and day out, it has been a reliable little IR camera for me and my purposes. works pretty decent for the price but the battery only last about 20 minutes 30 tops! when they put this on sale they put the cheaper battery in it I have another one from this company that has 2800 mhp battery this one came with a 700 doesn't last long!

I got the creative XP GlassCondor IT Monocular PRO on special for $93.20 as a gift for my Dad. I’m glad I tried it out before I gave it to him. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 for this.The one I received was clearly used and repackaged, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is trying this and then immediately returning it.Don’t let the listing photos fool you, it is useless in the daytime, tried with and without lens cap. Color loss, fuzzy and unable to focus, blown out where any sunlight shines. Definitely not capable of 720p.The screen is jittery and is slow to catch up to movements of subject or you moving to look at something else, even when fully charged.Because the image quality is so bad, the digital zoom is useless. It just makes it a bigger poor quality image.There are definitely cheaper (even than the sale price) alternatives. As soon as you pull it out of the box it’s obvious it’s cheap because it weighs next to nothing even with the batteries. Don’t waste your time or money on this.

I know you might not think sound is important, but if you only use this for recreational night vision, and like to narrate what you're seeing, (or maybe, like me, you like to talk to yourself out loud) or even like to tour graveyards at night; you'll love this monocular! It has a clear picture, is 1080p, and is lightweight, and easy to handle! You can also work the controls without looking at them, since they are placed atop the monocular, right where your fingers go! The only thing I can see that's a problem (and this is just an opinion) I wish there was a small 'extension' on the right side of the eyecup to form a complete seal around the eye. Other than that VERY minor nit, this is great for a budget night vision monocular! Where I live, I can only go in the backyard to get into the darkest dark of my suburban home, but I plan on soon going to the graveyard near here to tour it at night, and need the night vision to read the gravestones. I've also read that you can use this for hunting, if you so desire. I also intend on using it for spotting night critters (don't want to get too close to polecats if I can help it!) and maybe I can find insects, too? We'll see! Thanks Creative XP! P.S. Is it a magnified airsoft nv scope with no aim point? Is it a toy that you can use to see the neighbors cat thats 40 feet away super close and count whiskers? Spot deer at 200 yards with no recourse after trying to get your eyes to readjust from the bright glare of the lcd (that has no adjustment)? A video camera? A regular camera? This little device has a severe identity crisis. Locked at 5x zoom it is next to worthless unless your viewing range is out past 50 feet. Using this inside a home? No way. Listen, I understand that many people can't shell out 3k+ for pvs14s, and that cheap nv is better than absolutely no nv, yet this companies decision to use a non variable optic nv camera in this thing makes it nearly worthless.Pros:Can see neighbors cat in total darkness and give him a cool closeup profile pic at 25 feet...Let's your 12 year old see in total darkness with added vertigo from that locked 5x zoom with no fov adjustment...Could be added to a airsoft rifle for night "ops" with no reticle indicator as long as your trying to shoot your enemy larper right in the eye at 25ft (because the eyeball or shirt button is all you can see at this distance due to the zoom)...Light as a feather...Cool for larping...Cons:It is a toy that will end up in a closet and get little to no use for anything practical.Its going to break with any type of heavy use...As cheap as this thing was im going to see what I can do about maybe cracking it open and modifying it with a 1x nv drone camera. The housing is pretty decent yet needs to be epoxy hardened which I'll do as well.If you hear a bump in the night when your power is out, this would be the last thing I'd grab. Pure toy, save your money.
