This spinner is exactly what it appeared online. I’m really impressed by how tough and durable it is, with metal parts that will hold up over time. It came packaged with some styrofoam which I hate, but minimal amounts. There was a small hole in the bottom of the box from the metal shaft piercing through and one side of the box was dented, indicating it had been roughly handled. However, the unit was unscathed and functions perfectly. I’m so pleased! The price I paid was well worth the investment!

Drain line too short, can only fill up 1/3. Might as well pay 1/8 the price and get the smaller version that holds the same.

Got here quickly. Looks great. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that gears are plastic. But they seam to work very well. Two turns off the handle and the inner barrel is spinning really fast.

The unit is composed of three pieces - the outer bucket with integral metal innner spindle, the perforated tub which is spun by the gearbox and which rotates on the inner spindle as driven by the gearbox in the lid, and the lid with gearbox/handle. Most of the pieces are molded plastic, although the lid/gearbox is an assembly that includes metal parts (especially the spindle and handle/crank). All parts are either sealed are able to be easily cleaned. (It is not clear what the gearbox gears are made of - the old model used plastic gears.) I cannot assess durablity in an initial impressions review, but the item appears to be able to survive for an extended time period and substantial use. Two additional features include a bucket drain with hose, and a tub brake to slow it down after spin-up. The gearbox appears to be in the ratio of 1:6, such that one turn of the manual crank spins the perforated tub 6 revolutions. Therefore a one turn per second crank speed equates to 360 rpm, fast enough to cause loose moisture to be pushed to the outside of the contents and through the tub perforations, to be collected in the bottom of the bucket.
