You must try this, I love it !!!!
DO NOT DOUBT about this purchase, just do it! Wow... what a nice pallet!!. I am a novice, I just have few months in more contact with table tennis. My first paddle is a Stiga Striker, 1 star paddle, a very basic paddle. I was happy with the control, I learned to do smashes, serves, etc. I was happy but wonder how those champions or professors on you tube do that kind of things... I tried and just can repeat few of them, the rest of times just... its a shame!. So, since I want to improve my game I invest many time to find a pallet. Finally DHS convince me, because of the comments, reviews and price, the price just kill any other option. and about performance... its amazing!. I read in the reviews a couple of things that I want to remark in my feedback: 1) fishy odor... what are you talking about? :-) probably because of the long trip (China-US-Costa Rica), the heat or shipping conditions may kill the odor (or probably those complaint pallets were shipped at the same time with fish order to reduce shipping costs :-) ), I really cannot detect this odor. 2) the weight... I was a bit concern about this, but the people that complained about this, ...do you play with a sheet of paper??? :-) , Compared with my basic stiga, yes is a bit heavy BUT, still perfect to play, furthermore, the weight just help you to smash the ball and the combination of sponge and weight really helps to make very good returns. So, it is not heavy at all, I am a thin guy.I just received it yesterday, played only for 1.5 hours and I can confirm what I read: the face of your opponent when you return the ball... they result with a surprise face... in fact I have the same face!!.So, DO NOT DOUBT about this pallet, it is the correct choice in order to improve your game and avoid your wallet to get sick!I know that I have to improve my technique but I am sure too, that I will improve my game with this great pallet.I did not test any other advance pallet from any other brand, I guess that they should be great, but as a beginner, novice or just fan that wants to improve the game and due to the very low price... this one just beats any other option.DHS A6002, or higher level cheap pallet, be careful!!!, after I improve my game with this one, you are my next goal! :-)By the way, my rating of 4 star is due to the package, carton was damaged, internal plastic tray too. I was concern about the condition of the pallet, but happily, the pallet is in good condition. So, this needs to be improved.

Affordable upgrade for intermediate-level players
This review is for folks who, like me, play beyond the beginner level and find themselves somewhere in the intermediate level yet want to use a decent paddle. You'll have to excuse me as I lack the technical knowledge and jargon of the table tennis world. That being said, the handle smells like fish like everyone else has mentioned. Thankfully, the smell has dissipated significantly. The smell of the handle shouldn't stop you from buying this paddle. It really is a great value. From what I read on other reviews the rubber used (G888 and Hurricane III) is very good quality. I am able to generate tons of spin and carry a good amount of speed through my shots, yet still maintain control. The amount of spin I put on serves is just ridiculous. My friend who was on the other side of the table mentioned how much ball movement there was on my serve. I do find that I keep the ball in play more with the black side (G888) than the red side (H3). I guess I'm still figuring out how to approach the ball with the red side. It is head heavy, but not so much that I couldn't make quick adjustments. The extra weight really puts some *oomph* behind my shots.I would recommend getting the Killerspin Rubber Protector if you get this paddle, it's only $1.99. The rubber on this paddle is really tacky and you'll want something to keep the rubber free from dirt, dust, and debris when not playing. For the price versus performance it's a no brainer. Just buy it...and be sure to wash your hand afterwards because it will smell like fish. :)UPDATE: 5/27/12After using the x4002 for almost 6 months, playing once a week (2 hr sessions) I am still very satisfied with my purchase. My initial review mentioned using the G888 (black)rubber on forehand. It didn't take me long after the purchase to use H3 as the forehand and G888 on backhand. The spin and speed with this paddle is nothing short of amazing. I regularly play with 5 other guys. Three of the guys use paddles ranging in price from $60 to over $150!!! They're always surprised that I only paid $25 for mine. After figuring out how my paddle plays I can hang with these more experienced players and many times have these guys scrambling to keep up with my shots. The one negative I have is that after over 2 hours of straight play the weight of the paddle becomes more apparent, but for $25 I'm not going to complain too much.
