These work.
They work...........the keep the bait dry and they protect birds etc from getting poisoned. They LOCK so your pets are safe. Easy to fill and the black color makes them easy to 'hide'. They're sturdy, don't move around and look like they'll last a long time.

Works on very large rats
Condo construction recently started on a partially wooded and large open field near my house pushing all the wildlife closer. A pack of norway or wood rats (big ones) made their home near our garden and were running between houses and sheds. I used the Victor M925 poison bait paired with the Redtop Outdoor Rodent Bait Station. Checking multiple times a day to pick up any loose bait. In a week, this trap and bait has managed to get 3 large rats(10" to 14" nose to tail). The bait stations continue to work and keep the poison in a secured area through two rain storms and a late April snow storm. The trap is easy to open and refill with bait, but secure enough if you kick it around it won't open or spill the bait. The Victor bait works incredibly fast, one did not even have time to make it out of the station. This is a relief because I was worried it would have time to get somewhere I was unable to clean up or escape to the open where other wildlife could get potentially sick from eating them. If you have a rodent problem, the bait and bait station works incredibly well. Although it is "tamper" resistant, the bait can shake loose if kicked/moved hard enough. It is possible for the bait to be exposed near the holes. You still need to make sure this is not near pets or children. There are lots of squirrels and rabbits running by that leave the stations/bait alone. *Update as of 8/06/24 - identified at least 9 dead rats outside since using trap and bait since purchase.

Nice Bait Box, terrible locking system
Overall I gave this Bait Box four stars out of five. The box is sturdy, the way of using the bait inside is great, I know my 2 dogs will not be able to get to the bait inside. Appears to be a very nice product, however the key locking system is terrible. The lock system does not work tried many times still nothing. I'm not sure if because the plastic is cold it will not secure the top lid but it doesn't work. So, this is what worked for me I used 2 zip ties to hold the lid closed, just inserted the ties where the keys go pass it right through the box. Works great! I live in New York State it was 26 degrees when I set them up this morning maybe when the weather warms up the key system will work but for now this will do just fine. Don't be discouraged this is a very nice Bait Box I would not hesitate to buy more. Mark D. Hamburg NY

Works exactly as it should. We are pest free.
My home is close to an apt building which has a dumpster trash bin. I had seen signs of a rat or mouse on my porch. I have tiny dogs so a trap and baits were out of the question. The dogs can not get in these bait traps at all and Mr rat quickly met his demise. I will keep these baited so I don’t have to have any future worries. They are much more pleasing than a trap and hardly noticeable. Easy to bait and are durable and easy to clean without touching the inside. Wash out with a hose and disinfectant with bleach. The rodent goes off and dies. But if you have pets it’s a must to make sure the rodent is not where any pets could have access! I check my property daily. Anytime poison is used a responsible pet owner must make extra effort to ensure the safety of the pets. I do feel comfortable that my pets cannot access these bait stations.

Better than Traps!
We have had rat problems in the basement for quite some time. We laid many wooden traps with different bait and the plastic traps and we also laid glue traps. None of them worked! Then we bought these bait stations and the Victor poison pellets, and all our problems have been fixed. The first night I had put it out, all of the pellets were eaten and we found two dead rats outside. It’s been two months now and I’ve had to refill them a few times, but we have had ZERO activity indoors since buying these. I would HIGHLY recommend if nothing else seems to be working!

Cheaply made, inconvenient
It occurs to me I have no way to gauge how effective these bait stations are overall, as I'll probably never get rid of all the rats and won't know if I've killed any. What I can say is that I figured out the key thing without much difficulty, but needed a little more time to study the info in this listing to find out what all the included parts were for (the instructions it comes with are tiny.) I will note that there were plastic shavings everywhere, some that needed to be peeled off of the stations, so clearly there's no final quality check before these things go out the door. I've heard that rats don't touch those little green nuggets but I had an old old bag of them, so I put a few peanuts in the bottom of the tray and filled it with those nuggets and the contents of a D-con mouse bait. I checked the stations today and found that everything had been eaten. I've been trying to figure out how to find a reasonable quantity of those bait blocks that go on the skewers but it seems to can only but a thirty buck tub of them. I was at my local home center today and ended up buying another station mostly to get the 15 blocks included with it, and I think I like that station better as there are no goofy tools needed to open it, and there is a clear window allowing you to see the status of the bait. Such a window would have been an absolutely brilliant feature on these stations. My only concern about the new one is that it seems a bit small for some of the giant rats around here. So overall I'll give some dings for quality control, ease of use, and ease of monitoring; also feel that for the price the quality should not have been rock bottom.

This rat bait station is a fantastic value for the price! It’s sturdy, well-made, and perfect for outdoor use. It’s important to note that this is a bait station, not a trap—it safely holds bait to attract rodents while keeping pets and children away from the poison. I set up several of these around the perimeter of my home, and they’ve made a noticeable difference in keeping rodents under control. Every month or so, I check and replace the bait as needed. It’s simple, effective, and reliable—highly recommend for anyone looking for a cost-effective solution to manage pests.

Works very well. We had rats coming into our yard fo the bird seed etc. Place two of these traps in the high travelled places and within 10 days they were gone.
