Sony Xperia Z3 SO-01G 32GB GSM Unlocked - Silver Green (Renewed)

Order arrived quickly, sooner than expected. Plain white box with charger and cable and the phone was shrink wrapped inside. Upon unwrapping I was delighted to see how new it looked, didn't looked refurbished at all. My only concern was that it didn't match the markings on the photo. Upon further investigation I discovered that I had actually received Model SOV31 (Carrier au) instead of SO-01G (Carrier docomo NTT). It's not a Z3 but actually a Z3+ (Z4 in certain markets) Hooray! A little bit concerned and excited at the same time, I turned it on and a little bit scared that it booted up in Japanese. I little guesswork and I was able to change it to English. Booted up and went through all the settings and disabled the au carrier bloatware. Plugged in a SIM and waited, and waited, and waited...uh oh,... then boom I get a good signal and connection. Tested data and all seems to be working well. After a few days I'm very impressed with this phone. Very fast, great screen and build quality, impressive battery life so far, good camera, waterproof.... really a fantastic value. I wanted another one but they are now unavailable. I think the other review didn't really understand what they were getting into with a Japanese refurb, it's their loss.

After going and finding someone who spoke Japanese to set the phone up for me, it works absolutely great. I could not get hold of their customer service as it was a holiday. This would have been a 5 star phone had English activation not been so difficult. At least for me, it plays videos fine. It does tend to overheat. I installed a battery cooler app that seems to help. The battery does last quite some time, however. The seller did try to contact me after my purchase, but I had already gotten it hooked up on English. The phone came well packaged and actually looks totally brand new. If you can deal with getting this phone to function in English for the price, it's a really great buy.
