Need some SSD's in your home server but your out of bays? Want Cachecade or Fastpath?
I bought this so I could install 4 Samsung 850 EVOย Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM) ย in my Lenovo TS440ย Lenovo ThinkServer TS440 70AQ000XUX E3-1225 v3 4GB Tower Server ย that I use as my FreeNAS Media Server. One of them is assigned to L2ARC and the other 3 are in a RAIDZ2 vdev that I use as an ISCSI target for some virtual machines running on Vsphere. This meets SATA III specs which is important for an SSD implementation. If your doing an HBA just make sure you get the right controller like a 9211-4i. You have to have a separate controlller from your slow spinning disks or you will lose performance on the SSDs.

Good solution, but tight fit.
Works great for my workstation computer that has SAS cabling, even though I am using SATA drives. Can connect to RAID controller for RAID options as well. This unit fit VERY tight into my front 5.25" bay on my Dell T3600. First unit I had some fan trouble - very noisy at startup, but then would calm down. The replacement is very quiet.

Make sure you buy mini-sas to sata reverse cable
I am unable to review this item as of right now, but I wanted to make sure that potential buyers are aware that you need to buy a mini-sas to sata reverse cable. DO NOT buy the highpoint cable that amazon says are "frequently bought together"

Great aftermarket solution vs expensive OEM
Great aftermarket product. Saved me 100's of dollars for OEM drive cage. Product is not that refined but will get the job done. Wish manufacturer would publish the internal bus speed of backplane.

Perfect for my server.
Simple to set up and use. Works great! The LED's are really, really bright though. My server now lights the room it is in.

Awesome little box
Awesome little cage. Used it on a 4-SAS HDD RAID6 deployment. Works like a champ. The direct SFF to SFF connection means no loose cables flopping around in the chassis. Connected it directly to a port on my LSI 9260-8i.

An efficient way of quickly adding accessible storage where space ...
An efficient way of quickly adding accessible storage where space is at a premium. I've installed it in a HP N54L microserver and connected it to an HP P410 RAID card via SAS cable, the card recognised the drive I'd installed straight away and without issue. Looks neat and does exactly what's required of it.

sata/sas 5.25" 4 2.5" bays internal chassis
It is well built and flexible, sas or sata drives of any size, but be aware that the cable needed to connect this chassis to a controller is rare, a true "reverse" cable.
