A great radio for the money as good as the Japanese radio's.

It works and has a lot of features, but it's nowhere near the quality of Japanese/Taiwan/US type of radios. The transmit audio is quite dirty and channel rejection is subpar.PROS-Has a lot of features including noise reduction (although it has problems)-Large LCD screen, easy to see-CTCSS and tone squelching repeater offset functions-Decent power output (But not be the cleanest)CONS- The transmit audio (SSB) at first seems good, but it really is not. Very dirty compared to HF rigs- No backlight on the buttons- Receiver channel rejection is terrible.- Cheap plastic knobs- Cheap microphone- The chassis covers don't fit properly and there is a 1/8 gap on the back of the radio- Modes don't track with the band selections (You have to set mode manually, no memory)I have had this radio and been using for about 3 months, I suppose for the price it's not too bad. But with the transmit audio/driver bias I would be concerned it's not the cleanest radio out there. The noise reduction works surprisingly well, however when you transmit and let off the key, the NR stops working (decay) for a few seconds. My biggest complaint really is how poor the transmit quality is, and I have noticed that driving it to full power makes it worse.

The Anyone 5555N II is by far the best 10 meter mobile out there. The addition of the Noise Reduction circuit is a game changer it really gets rid of the noise and brings those weak stations to the front. It's a massive radio but well worth the money spent.

I had high hopes that this would be the best radio for my purposes, but they were soon dashed when I could not find any functioning software to program it with. I downloaded the software from a website given to me by Lucky Product. It was in Chinese and had a run time error when I tried installing it. I even tried downloading the software from anytone.net, but when I did, I got warnings from my computer about malware on the site. Tina tried her best to help. Bless her heart, but so far none of her suggestions seem to work. The lesson I learned was to buy USA made products, if possible, but the choices are very limited. It is a shame because this radio seems to be a good radio, but with all of the problems I have had, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth about the Anytone company and Chinese products in general. If I receive satisfaction, I will amend my review. I hope I have the opportunity to do so.

Este es uno de los mejores radios que he tenido. La calidad es extraordinaria y la cantidad de funciones es sorprendente. Lo recibí ayer y he hecho contactos con USA, Costa Rica, Puerto RIco y estados de la republica.Es un radio 10 metros pero tiene la opcion de abrirlo a 11 y 12 , lo cual era mi interés.Lo recomiendo mucho, la calidad del audio es muy buena y solo he obtenido buenos reportes de mi modulacion.RECOMENDADO.
