Irish Button Accordion Techniques

This guy is a VERY good accordion player, but a terrible teacher. This video is frustration in that he spends about 80% of the time "showing out" or playing very complicated stuff at full tempo, and then spends the remaining 20% of time showing how to do the cool ornaments that make his playing sound so good. The problem is that, even when he shows you how he does the ornaments, he still doesn't really slow things down much, and when he puts it into a song to show you what it sounds like, it's back to full tempo. I wouldn't recommend that one.

In viewing the DVD, it's clear that Peter Browne has mastery of his instrument. If you're trying to learn the Irish B/C Button Accordion, this is a good one to have in your library. Not a lot of verbal explanation, but plenty of examples of how to play it.I've taken a couple of drill-type exercises from it, so far, and as I get time, I'm sure it'll reward the effort.If you're trying to learn the flute or fiddle, not a lot here, but if it's accordion of the 2-row B/C variety, it's a winner.

In dieser DVD werden vor allem Verzierungen besprochen. Wer einen kompletten Anfängerworkshop erwartet ist hier falsch. "Techniques" im Titel bezieht sich also nur auf Verziehrungen, nicht auf Tipps zum generellen Spielen.
