Kaufman Muslin is the best I've found for muslin used for testing out pattern garments as well as quilting projects. It feels sturdier than your generic muslin on the bolt at the neighborhood "big box" fabric store. For one, the fabric feels as though it's a higher quality than your less expensive muslin. This muslin is not as cheap, but less expensive than the typical muslin you're used to buying. If you want something that is going to mimic better cotton for apparel testing, you're better off choosing a better quality muslin. The fit will be more in line with what you'd expect from a better quality cotton.

I use this for the inside layer of the 3-layer face coverings I make. I've ordered it now several times. One batch I received was very wrinkly and rough no matter how many times I washed and dried it. But all the other batches are exactly what you would expect muslin to be. Guess the seller just got an "off" batch.

I am making masks using my fabric stash and ordered this muslin to use as a liner so that my fabric would go twice as far. From some of the reviews, I expected that it would come out of the washer and dryer in a wrinkled, wadded-up mess that would require a great deal of ironing effort. Just took it out of the dryer and I really could not be more pleased. Yes, it is wrinkled and will require a bit of ironing but no more than I'd expect from any fabric. Also the quality is very nice, heavy enough to do the job without being too heavy and stiff. I'm patting myself on the back for taking a chance and ordering this.

This is the best muslin ever and I am doing hand embroidery with it. The texture of the fabric is just the right softness. It washed up well without too many wrinkles. It deserves five stars.quilter from Kokomo In

My go to quilt backing. Easy to sew through. Soft after first wash- does need a quick pressing but fine in subsequent finished quilt washings. This unbleached fabric has a lovely antique look whereas the white is REALLY WHITE.
