Replaced broken latch
This latch kit fit easy peasy in the original bolt holes. The only modification needed was trimming the latch push about a 1/4 inch. I was able to with a serrated knife. As it was too thich for a scissor. The old system that broke after decades of use was made with metal pieces. This is plastic so not certain on how long it’ll last in comparison. The door will be replaced in the next year or two so no concerns on longevity. Install time was a few minutes. I’d acquainted myself with the directions prior so only needed the final step. Make certain to install the spring correctly. Or it’ll get stuck when you figure out it is the worn way and it’s a beaner to unstuck to restore correctly. The only issue I had was in regard to the vintage door of the house and how the previous people installed this more modern screen door to the trim. The latch barely protrudes far enough even with the two small plastic shims provided to hold the door secure. So needed a tiny modification. Using who shims to help. I’m happy with the price and functionality. Ease of install. Handle quality is adequate for our needs. Looks nicer than the OG white handle that came with the door. Probably in the 70’s. Since it is made of metal. Which cracked in cold weather and lots of use over the years. I’d recommend this product to replace a broken handle. Might need to get creative with the latch holder for a perfect fit. Other than this scored a win without having to run to the store.

Broke after 2 weeks
Buyer beware. I bought this product on January 31, 2026 and am writing this review 17 days later on February 17, 2026. While installation was easy, this product broke after just over 2 weeks of normal use. A couple days ago the latch got a little stuck, but nothing concerning. Today the latch was unable to be engaged and locked me out of my house as I couldn't open the door from the outside. Once I got inside, I was able to open the door with some effort, so I brought in the first batch of groceries. When I went to go get the rest of my groceries, the door had closed and was now completely unable to be opened. The lock switch on the inside of the door was stuck in the locked position and the door was completely unable to be opened. The spring had gotten caught by something inside the latch and was stuck in the locked position. I had to snap the latch off just to be able to get out of my front door. Hindsight being 20/20, I could have uninstalled the latch completely instead of snapping it off, but that's not how things went down. Either way, I absolutely do not recommend this product.

Great Customer Service
This is my detailed review of the Prime-Line K 5007 Screen and Storm Door Push Button Latch Set with Night Lock! Here is my breakdown of my experience: Initial Disappointment: It’s frustrating when a product breaks within a short time. In my case, the screen door handle stopped working, making it impossible to open from the outside. That’s certainly inconvenient. Responsive Seller: Kudos to the seller for their timely response! When I reached out to them, they promptly asked for photos of the defective item. Effective communication is crucial in such situations. Replacement Process: Seller immediately shipped a replacement. It’s reassuring when sellers stand by their products and take swift action to resolve issues. Installation and Performance: Installing the replacements went smoothly, and now everything works great. That’s a positive outcome! Sometimes products may have flaws, but excellent customer service can turn things around. Confidence in Sellers: My final point - when sellers or manufacturers take ownership and stand by their products, it builds trust. Knowing they prioritize customer satisfaction encourages future purchases.

Simple Fix That Works Right Away 🔧✨
This push button is one of those quick upgrades that makes your door feel like new again. It installs easily and fits well on screen, lanai doors, or storm doors without any hassle. The button presses smoothly, and the latch engages just like it should — no sticking or forcing it. The build feels solid for everyday use, and it does exactly what you need without overcomplicating things. Simple, reliable, and a great fix instead of replacing the whole door.

It's a cheap lock
I bought this lock , thinking it would work on my back door. I followed the instructions, did everything I was supposed to do. Before I close the door I checked to make sure I wasn't gonna get locked out, lo and beholdI got locked out so not being a locksmith.I didn't know what to do me and my dog was stuck in my backyard. For about good 20 minutes, so I had to break the lock.So now i'm back to square one. I am thankful that there was a cheap lock and I was able to break it.It only goes to show that if someone was to break into my back door it would be really easy to do so. I'm not sure I'm blaming the lock like I said.I'm not a locksmith, so I won't buy this again now.I have a handle to a door and that's it.

Works well easy to install
Easy to install works well. Tried to open it with a lot of force after installing it and it did not open 😁 built so that you cannot accidentally lock yourself out.

Due to a design flaw, this product can lock you out without the lock engaged.
I strongly recommend against buying a latch of this type. Due to a design flaw, it can lock you out even when its lock is not engaged. Here’s how that can happen (and it happened to me): Like many other latches, this one has a keeper that is a vertical bar on springs, which it engages when the door swings shut. Most of those other latches can retract to unlatch the door. This one does things differently, and that’s where the flaw is. The latch itself is immobile and hollow. Inside of it is a release mechanism that moves forward to push on the keeper bar to disengage the latch. But that piece is shaped like the latch itself, and can therefore slip over the keeper bar, and that’s what makes things go wrong. If you’re outside and want to open the door, you push on the button to cause the release mechanism to push the keeper bar back. But if you also accidentally push on the door at the same time, the release mechanism will slip over the keeper bar. Then you’re trapped, with both the latch and the release mechanism holding on to the keeper, and the outside push button completely useless and non-functional. At this point the latch can only be opened from inside the house. Instead of this product, please buy a latch that retracts or turns away from the keeper.

Cumple su cometido
Lo único que no me gustó es que tiene un vástago de plástico adentro, poco firme.

Garbage
This is cheap crap. I've had to take it apart several times to make it work again. Push too hard and it gets stuck. The lock piece has fallen out and I had to put it back. I'm fed up with fixing it and will be getting something better.
