Simple and cheap
Perfect for extending a wireless or wired network. For those that don't know what a powerline kit it essentially uses the wiring for wall outlets in your home as a wire to send information over. Plug one in the outlet close to your router and connect an ethernet cable from it to an ethernet port on your router. Find another outlet in your house and plug the second one in and wait for it to connect (make sure to plug directly into the wall and not a surge protector as that can cause problems). When all the lights are green you can plug your computer directly into the second one with an ethernet cable and enjoy! These are particularly useful for houses with lots of interference and dead spots, or if you want to have a router that repeats the signal of your home network in a farther part of the house. I use mine to set up a second router that repeats the signal of the first router to extend my coverage in my home.

Good Stuff, but perhaps not in all cases.
The adapter set did NOT offer me any measured advantage over the current AT&T wireless setup. To attempt to be a fair review, it must be stated that mine was not a typical situation. This building is over 6,000 square feet, mostly brick and masonry with steel rebar in many places, and three stories high on one end. I was hoping for gaining an advantage in sections by using this device. According to the AT&T 'Internet Speedometer, this didn't happen. I ordered the next 'higher-numbered' set and am going to give that a try. Will answer questions after evaluation. If you are considering trying this one out, don't let my less-than-5star rating dissuade you. Other reviews have been quite positive and my circumstances are a bit extreme. It may have been those that had a negative effect, but I notice that not all the overseas products have the same quality components included. Your guess is as good as mine, and Amazon is quick to stand behind what they sell, if you don't dawdle or exceed their time constraints, so If you have a need, by all means , --give this setup a try!.Other reviewers have noted problems when plugged into a power strip, so do make sure you have a mains outlet accessible nearby.Good Luck and hope this helps a few, ~E

Miles better than Wifi
After making the mistake of buying a cheap USB Wifi adapter for my computer, and spending hours on end troubleshooting the thing, I couldn't be happier. Setup is extremely easy and takes about five minutes to complete: plug one unit into a (preferably empty) wall socket near your router, then plug the other unit into a (preferably empty) wall socket next to the target device, and then hold down the button on the device for a few seconds in order to generate an encryption key. You then plug both units in via ethernet, and you're good to go.I live in a very large house, and the computer I bought this for is located in a far corner on the upper floor, with the router located in a central location on the main floor. As long as I don't plug anything into any adjacent sockets, I have a constant connection that is usually rated at the full (80-100 mbps) speed, but it sometimes drops to the 50-80 mbps range, as indicated by a LED on each unit. This isn't a problem for me, as I have a fairly slow connection, but those who have fast connections should probably be looking at a faster model anyway.Using this, I can max out my connection on both the up and down streams, which wasn't possible using wifi. The connection is also very stable, which is something I couldn't even dream of achieving over a wireless connection. I've had zero issues with this product and would easily recommend this to anyone who is still using wifi in a local environment.

It works
I bought two kits to replace the wireless. The wireless provided a very weak signal to the second floor and was not fast enough for one user let alone multiple users. Placed one in the basement by the router and the other three in the second flour bedrooms. Works great. What is surprising is that the basement and second floor are on separate service panels and the signal was able to bridge the panels. They provide better connectivity and much higher throughput than the wireless was providing. There is a button on the units that you press to associate them. This isn't necessary, but if you live in an apartment building you would want to do this to prevent someone from piggy backing on your internet service.

Excellent!
Love it! I use it for my smart TV and it works every time. I used to have issues with my smart TV's wireless connection, but after using this I haven't had an issue. And the set up couldn't have been easier. I plugged it into the modem and then plugged the second to the TV and it connected up and worked flawlessly. This is the slower 200Mbps model and it works well with my HD streaming. Now I have the lowest streaming option from my cable provider so it's not like I'm the HD connoisseur/snob. But it works for my tastes and I don't notice a degrade in picture quality, if anything, it's improved.

Works exactly as advertised
Works great, doesn't require any setup (these are idiot-proof), come with cables, and offer a substantial performance improvement over wifi signals that are often oversaturated even in suburban housing developments.Make sure your computer's Ethernet card (often integrated into the motherboard) has its drivers installed before you use this. If you've been using wifi previously your computer may only have its wifi card's drivers installed--this was the case with my setup.

When I called Comcast for technical support with my wifi the agent who surprisingly was so nice and helpful told me about this product and said he himself use it at home, I tried to get extra long ethernet cables to connect my Apple Airport on my second floor but none of the cables I bought were good enough. This Product is amazing, technology is surely a beautiful thing, it was so simple to use and now I get excellent wifi signal on my 3rd floor without the mess of extra long ethernet cables. Would recommend this product to anyone.
