I started using discs a few years ago after I got an IUD. Before that I used a Diva cup. Initially, I was so frustrated. It took me a few cycles to really understand where it needed to sit, and even after that I would have issues with auto-dumping when I sneezed or coughed, or when sitting up after sleeping through the night. I tried a few different brands, really just cheap generic discs, and always selected the smallest size since I haven't given birth before. A few months ago, I made the decision to remove my IUD because it was causing massive bleeding for at least a week every cycle, but wanted to continue using a disc because it really is amazingly comfortable and easy to use once you get used to it. I've seen the Flex disposable discs and have never used them, but was drawn to the reusable option because other reviews said it had a firm rim and a good standard size, and lord were they correct. This disc is amazing. I know some people might hear "firm rim" and think it sounds uncomfortable, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Because it doesn't give, it stays perfectly tucked into place even if you move around a bunch or tense to sneeze or cough. It also makes it easy to know that it's back in place after you go to the bathroom, because you can literally feel it "pop" behind your pubic bone with your fingers. Trust me, you will not feel it inside you. And because of the little notch in the rim, it's even easier to fold and insert than a standard reusable disc. I've never had any issues with wondering if it's fully opened. My period was still ridiculously heavy for the first cycle after I had my IUD removed, but even now that it's returned to a much more manageable flow, this disc is a dream come true. I can't say enough good things about this. It's made my periods feel like no big deal, which was not always the case. And yes, it does result in less cramping than you would get with a tampon. I'd recommend it to anyone with a period, whether it be your first or your hundredth. My grandma says "they've finally found a cure for periods"!

Incredible. I tried a cup once and it was a nightmare. It scared me off for a long time. I decided to try the disposable discs after a moment of reconsideration and it was fantastic. It went so well I bought the reusable one and it's my first cycle with it, I'm sold. I have severe cramps, and I have noticed a massive difference with these. I still get them, particularly bad on day one, but when I used tamps I would cramp full time all week. With these, I almost didn't have any. I felt day one, and the rest of the time it was a rare ache here and there. Some days nothing at all. I love that I can sleep with them. I barely leaked overnight on my heaviest day (I normally do with tamps, even the extra supers, and I have to set alarms to change them because even with overnight pads I've had mishaps). I only needed a panty liner for that one night! One thing though, I could auto dump with the disposable option. I also had a few leaks with the disposables, on my heaviest day. With this reusable option, I cannot seem to auto dump. It's said that's because with the size and composition it's a better fit for my body. That's fine, I can deal with that. But it's a little disappointing because I enjoyed the auto dump spring my heaviest days when I didn't want to need longer breaks at work or on the go to handle that. I have decided to use disposables during that time instead so I could utilize that, but the rest of my period the reusable is great. Now about placement. I am in my late 30s, one delivery by c section. I watched multiple videos online and was nervous about getting it right and getting it out. I found it totally easy to get it in and tucked my first try. It was totally comfortable, didn't feel it at all. The disposable ones tend to slip on me while using the restroom and need to be readjusted, but this reusable one doesn't do that. Removing it was a bit of a learning curve. The disposable ones were easier to remove for me, the thinner lining and more pronounced edge made quick work of hooking my finger under it and pulling it out. This one's more flush and rounded and the material made it a little more difficult to do that. I had a mess my first attempt, and I was glad I tried that at home where the sink is nearby and I had plenty of clean up options. The second time, I tried to move more slowly and get the feel for it, but it fell in the toilet. I never had that happen with the disposable ones and it was pretty annoying and gross. I was not at home for that situation, it was a public restroom, so I just had to let that one go. Thankfully I bought multiples, which I HIGHLY suggest for just that situation. But after that I have seemed to have figured it out and no longer having any difficulty with it.

I recently found out I have fibroids. I bleed heavy and go through the biggest tampon in about an hour. This gives me much more time to not worry. Every couple of hours I go to the restroom to auto dump it, so if you push and kegel a couple times, it will empty all the way without having to take it out. I previously tried cups which I could feel and they were harder to get into position since I have a low lying cervix as well. They barely fit my body and are much messier than discs, especially when out in public because you have to remove them. (These also hold more) The auto dump is amazing but make sure it's notched back into place after doing so. While you don't have to take it out for your cycle at all, I usually remove, wash with gentle fem soap and reinsert daily while in the shower. Removal and insertion is easy to me now. I don't get any irritation from it. No reduction in cramps but I'm sure that's my fibroids fault. I'm glad that I've switched! I will never look back. I think the best part is no worry of tss, no having to remove it, not feeling it and how much it holds. My only qualm was when I first got it, I was so paranoid that I wasn't using it properly and that it would leak even when I had it in right. Being used to 20 plus years of tampons Def had me on a learning curve with these. I can't blame the flex for that. Just took a little bit for me to get used to using. I do have leaks on occasion still due to severe, heavy bleeding but it's always on my heaviest day while I'm sleeping for extended periods. I've had much less incidents after switching and HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LIFE-CHANGING! I have been a tampon user for YEARS and honestly thought I'd use them forever. After learning more about some of the potential risks associated with tampons, I started looking for alternatives and decided to try the Flex Cup. Unfortunately, cups just weren't for me—I found it uncomfortable and a little painful to insert and wear. Luckily, the disc that came with it completely changed my experience. It was SO much easier to insert, and once it was in place, I genuinely forgot I was even on my period. I wore it through my normal daily routine, including long shifts at work, and had ZERO leaks. After seeing how well it worked for me, my boyfriend surprised me with the reusable version, and I've had the same amazing results. Only slight downside of the disc is that removal could be a little messy at first, but honestly, the overall experience of it is worth a little mess! For me, it has been a total game-changer. No more pads, no more tampons, no leaks, and so much more comfort. I only wish I had tried it sooner! Writing this in hope someone else feels the same way I do hehe :)

Best product ever! I’ve tried other brands and I’ve also tried cups. I have nothing against the cups, but this is way more comfortable. You can use this during smexy time and there will be no leaks! It’s comfortable for both partners. It’s easy to use daily- easy to clean -!: the best part it self empties when you pee. I own two. One to keep in my emergency kit in my car and then one I use regularly that lives at home. They also make disposable ones and I love those as well. They are great to keep in your purse or first aid kits.

Flex Menstrual Cup Review – A Solid Upgrade with a Few Learning Curves I’ve been using the Flex menstrual cup for a few cycles now, and while it’s not my “Goldilocks” disk, it’s definitely a big improvement over what I was using before. I previously used the Saalt Small Cup, and while it’s a popular option, it just didn’t work for me. The suction on that cup caused pretty uncomfortable cramping, it was tough to get it to open properly, and I found myself having to empty it multiple times a day—only for it to still leak, even on lighter flow days. Enter the Flex cup. It took a little practice to get the hang of insertion, but once I got used to the technique, it went in pretty smoothly. The design is definitely more comfortable for me than the Saalt, and I love that I only need to empty it every 12 hours thanks to its larger capacity. That’s been a total game changer for busy days. Removal is still a bit messy, but not overwhelmingly so. It’s manageable, and I think with more experience it’ll get even easier. It’s not the most perfect fit (still on the hunt for my ideal disk), but it does its job well—no cramps, no constant leaks, and far fewer bathroom trips. Overall, I’ll definitely keep using it. It’s a solid, reliable product that works way better for my body than the cup I was using before.

I'm writing this after my first cycle using the Flex Disc. I've never used any kind of menstrual cup or disc before, and I've been converted! I chose to try a disc as opposed to a cup because I get cramps, and tampons tend to make them worse, so I figured I'd be better off trying something that sits in a different location. I was also intrigued by the auto-emptying feature. Inserting the disc was surprisingly easy. It went into the right place on the first try. It was almost a little anti-climactic -- I had expected to struggle with it. But nope! I think I had mildly worse cramps on day 1, compared to just using pads, but nothing I couldn't handle. The reward was SO worth it! Instead of feeling wet and gross all day and worrying about leakage, I was dry and carefree! I did a couple of pretty intense workouts (boxing/kickboxing, squats, and abs) and didn't have any problems at all. I take showers in the morning and at night, and I cleaned and re-inserted the disc during those times. So basically, I only had to deal with having a period twice a day. It was amazing. I had very minor leakage on my heaviest day, and when the auto-emptying feature works, it causes some leakage too. Think about it -- if some blood is dumped out, there will naturally be some left in the canal after you wipe, and gravity will bring it down eventually. So I still wore a pad each day. Moving forward, I'm going to look into getting some period underwear to pair with the disc, so that I can completely dump the pads and be more eco-friendly. In terms of comfort, I am very sensitive. I used to have an IUD, and if I put my mind to it, I could feel the IUD up there. This was the same way. It didn't hurt to have the disc in, and it wasn't uncomfortable per se, but if I thought about it, I could feel it. That being said, I forgot about it the majority of the time when I was at work, at the gym, etc., so it certainly wasn't bothersome. I just don't know if the description "if it's in correctly, you won't feel it" is totally accurate for more sensitive folks. Anyway, I 100% recommend this product. It's so worth it to be less tied to regular period products, and to basically be able to forget about having a period outside of twice-daily cleaning and re-insertion. The disc made my period experience so much better that I want to tell every menstruating person I know! UPDATE, 2.5 years later: After reading more about menstrual discs, I've learned that when a menstrual disc constantly auto-empties and needs to be pushed back into place most times you use the bathroom, it's probably a sign that it's too big for your body. That was definitely my experience with the Flex. It auto-dumped a lot, and I felt the need to check that it went back to the correct spot every time that happened. Often it didn't and needed to be pushed back into place. My Flex disc developed a crack after 2.5 years, which meant it was time for a replacement, so I tried a disc that is just a little smaller in diameter (Cora Perfect Fit). The Cora PF auto-empties less often and typically goes back into place automatically. I am very grateful to the Flex disc for introducing me to a better menstrual experience, but for some bodies, like mine, a smaller disc is just a better fit.

Alright ladies, let’s talk about the flax disc. 1.does it actually work? -yes! I used it for the entirety of my last period and experienced no problems or leaking 2. Is it comfortable? -yes! Once in place it feels exactly like a tampon (or doesn’t feel because you literally can’t feel it once it’s in) 3. Is it convenient?-maybe, it’s convenient in the way that you don’t have to worry about running out of tampons or pads, convenient that you only have to check it 2x a day (for me, may need more for a heavier flow) and convenient that you can sleep with it in and not have to worry. NOT convenient because yes, let’s be honest, it can be messy to take out to empty, plus it can be messy putting it back in since there is no applicator to put I in for you. It’s not convenient because if you are in a public restroom and don’t have a cleaning container (buy the pixie cup one, it’s amazing and breaks down for storage) it’s near impossible to clean your disc. 4. Is it long lasting? -yes! It can last for years if cleaned properly and not damaged by boiling (get cleaning solution and water or buy a cup/disc steamer to protect the disc from burning) eventually like everything else it will need to be replaced, however it comes no where close to disposing 14 tampons or more, a week every month. 5. Does it actually help with cramps?-yes! I typically cramp ALOT on my period, my last period with the disc, I did experience some cramping, however it was no where near as much cramping as I would have with tampons 6. Can you actually empty it without taking it out?-yes and no. Because the flex disc only comes in one size, if you’re not a heavy bleeder (like myself usually) you won’t have a lot to empty. This being said, it will be harder to empty a little bit without taking it out, then emptying the majority if you were a heavy bleeder. Also be cautious that in order to self empty, you have a high chance of it coming out of place and needing to be readjusted. My personal opinion? Just take it out to empty and re-insert, a lot easier and guaranteed you won’t leak after. TO SELF EMPTY- you’re going to want to be sitting on the toilet and push as if you were trying to go #2. Your muscles essentially will push the disc down to empty. Finally, #7. Is it better than cheaper discs?-yes! I have also tried other brands and no other discs compares to the flex disc. The flex is made with high quality medical grade silicone, while others tend to have a more plasticy feel to them and bend less easily than the flex disc OVERALL - an amazing product and I highly recommend it. It’s eco friendly and not linked to TSS which was a main seller for me. However, u do wish the company would make different sizes to meet the needs of different flows. Having a larger disc with light bleeding seems excessive instead of just using a smaller size.

i'm gonna feed back on a few bits that are super relevant. - it doesn't self empty quite as well as the disposables do. - it's comfortable and you can't feel it in place - you'll never go back to tampons again, this is so much more practical - it is messy to empty, you need a bathroom with a sink to wash your hands after to plan removal for bedtime - I've never leaked with flex, either disposable, if you import them from the states, or this reusable silicone one. - it feels cleaner than regular sanitary items to use, 'nipping' to the loo is so much easier - if you're a sports person, this is your go to, especially sports where you're unable to get to a loo for hours - golf, tennis, football etc - you can do the deed with it in place, it doesn't shift or move, but it is distracting for your partner cos they can feel it. if you're after the cleaner experience this will tick the box, but you're only gonna want to remove it to clean it after anyway (in my opinion) so if you're not bothered to begin with, just remove it first. - to get your head around the way these work, it sits vertically not horizontally. you put it in like a tampon without an applicator, it slots into place intuitively about as high up as your index finger. you hook it back out with your finger, you might have to bear down a little. it sounds way more complicated than it actually is. - all day comfort, no stress, no leaks, to toxic shock and you can sleep in it no problem. - it just cleans with handwashing. - worth noting for anyone who already uses the disposable flex that this needs a little more concentration to remove, not in a bad way, just in a different way because its all silicone. - it air dries quickly and comes with a little canvas bag to store it in. - worth one final note - if you like to sleep without clothes, this is the purchase for you.

Highly recommend! I have tried the Diva cup and Diva disc- the disc semi-worked but had a lot of leakage. I feel like I don't have a period even at its heaviest. There's next to no leaking and you can self empty while peeing. It took a little learning to get the hang of inserting it but it helped that I'd had a disc before and didn't take long to get used to it. I was using many liners and pads with the other disc and this one, I use very little liners.

Super happy that Amazon.ca carries the Flex Reusable Disc since we can't find the reusable disc in stores here in Toronto (stores only carry the disposables). Well as you can see, I have both the reusable and the disposable discs: I bought the disposable one first to see if liked it enough to get the reusable one. I love both and found the reusable disc slightly more comfortable than the disposable disc! Flex is the first brand of menstrual discs I ever used and previously I had been using the Diva Cup for years. I have no idea why it took me THIS LONG to discover menstrual discs. I can honestly say, I will only use the Diva Cup if I'm swimming in the ocean (and I don't touch tampons by the way). Why won't I use the menstrual disc when swimming in the ocean? Okay ladies, well, if you're having fun snorkelling in the ocean for a couple of hours, you're probably gonna want to pee in the ocean (just not with any humans near you out of courtesy). And well, when you pee, the disc will self-empty and release blood and you don't want blood in the ocean (um, it could attrack a shark). So for anyone who swims in the ocean regularly or is heading on a tropical vacation during that time of the month, just keep this in mind as a small safety tip 😉 In terms of using the menstrual disc during intimacy, this thing is AMAZING! 😅 Your partner probably won't notice or feel the disc. I honestly love the Flex menstrual disc and highly recommend it. And I did quite a bit of research prior to my purchase and found that Flex is the only reusable disc that does not have dye/colour on the disc which was important to me. Now, I was shocked when I saw the size of the disc for the first time: my partner was shocked too and we both wondered how it was going to fit in there 🤣 well, it fits. And it fits quite easily!! And the good news is that I don't feel it at all (unlike the diva cup which you can kind of feel). And compared to the diva cup, for any ladies who have experience with the diva cup, this menstrual disc is a breeze to remove: I often struggled to pull out the diva cup in comparison and I find the diva cup a lot messier since it does not self empty like this Flex disc. Couldn’t recommend it enough. I’m 28 and have never used a tampon, or cup in my life - pads only, so this was a completely new, and somewhat daunting experience. I was scared it would get stuck inside, which is the reason I never bought a cup, but this one seemed less likely to create a hard to break suction and get stuck, so I went for it. I definitely struggled the first couple tries to get it in properly, but on my 3rd attempt I did it perfectly and now have no issues. I have no leakage, I can’t feel it, and if I didn’t experience pain (I have Endo) then I wouldn’t even know I was on my period. Absolute game changer, sucks I’ve spent 14 years menstruating without this lol. Only downside is price, however I would pay that all day long for the benefits, and it is a bit messy changing it, but you only have to do it once every 12 hours, so it’s no big deal having a bit of a mess twice a day. And it’s super easy to take out which was my biggest concern, will never use another period product again

I'm honestly baffled that I reached the age of 32 without ever hearing about menstrual discs. After years of wearing tampons this unexpectedly feels so much cleaner - yes it's a little messy to remove, especially on my heaviest flow day, but that's a small price to pay to eliminate the need to change my tampon every couple of hours. I have never experienced BAD cramping, but once I hit 30 I did start having some discomfort in the first couple of days. Using the disc instead of tampons seems to have really helped, granted I've only used these for one cycle but I haven't had any cramping which is unusual for me these days. I was worried that I would feel it, in the same way you can feel a tampon when you've not quite inserted it enough or when the string is sitting weirdly, but I genuinely feel nothing. I was also worried about leaks, have been wearing pantyliners *just in case* but so far it's been completely mess free. The one thing I haven't tested is period sex, I'm not convinced it will work that well (I mean, I can feel the rim with my finger so I imagine the guy would feel it during sex..?) but even if it doesn't, I'm still very happy!
