THE GRAND 1000-Thread-Count 100% Cotton California King Sheet Set, Ivory

Love these sheets ,i do not get stuck in them or wrapped up in them,also i love that i do not get to hot in them ( i hear they are warm for in the winter which will be good for me cause i live in Vermont ) but its summer now and they are nice and cool :) they look to me like they are thick and well made , i have only washed them once so i do not know how they hold up but from the reviews i read before i purchased them they should be good. I got mine on sale for a GREAT price so i was limited to the color ivory , i thought i would hate it but i like it just fine , the sheets feel like top of the line sheets in a nice hotel , so when i climb in to my sheets it makes me feel like I'm climbing into a bed made for a queen :) LOVE LOVE LOVE them. only bad thing was the shipping it took 3 weeks to get them BUT i did get them like a day before their latest date they said they could get here,so they were not late , also when they arrived i thought the packaging was weird (no box ) was in paper wrapping but the sheets were in a nice bag that matched the sheets ,and they were NOT damaged so it was all good. i defiantly recommend these sheets especially at the sale price i got them. :)

I have purchased 2 of these sets. The first set has the Melrose Collection tag & a made in China tag on the flat sheet, fitted sheet & pillow cases purchased this set directly from Amazon as the seller.The second set purchased from a private seller that sells on Amazon, these sheets are not the same as the first. They don't have Melrose Collection posted any where on them, not on the packaging or sheets. The tag on the sheet says made in china, which is also different than the first set. The seams are not the same, real noticable on the pillowcases & flat sheet. Color is the same ivory. Sheets don't feel the same either, feel a bit lighter. I absolutely loved the first set purchased from Amazon with the Melrose Collection tag. They have been washed & dried several times over the years & hold up well, no shrinkage I wash on warm, rinse on cold, never use bleach because of the discoloration warning from other buyers. They are perfect for all seasons, we live in central upstate NY, are wonderful for those hot summer nights where you just need a sheet. Nice, cozy & comfortable, I love the feel against your skin, mmm....don't want to get out of them in the morning is the only problem. However, in the winter months I've heard flannel or fleece are wonderful, currently we have an electric mattress pad, I've heard that if you use the fleece sheets you no longer would need the electric mattress pad but don't actually know that for a fact, just hear say. These new ones I washed the same way, no shrinkage or discoloration, but there is a couple pulls noticable on the pillowcase. Overall satisfied so far with my second set, question if they are really from the Melrose Collection or are just "Grand 1000 Thread Count" made in China being sold under the Melrose Collection name. They do fit oversized mattresses, the pillowcases are king, the price is right & they are as comfortable as my first set, just material feels a bit lighter. Hope the second set of sheets last & hold up as nice as the first ones.Rated 4 stars due to the difference in both sets of sheets being so noticeable & inconsistent.

Updating the review I did initially in December of 2006 (now Dec 07):Still 5 stars. I've had these sheets just about a year now. I wish I had bought 4 pairs of them when they were $60. Still great sheets at $100. I own numerous pairs of 800, 1000 and now a set of 1500 egyptian cotton single ply sheets and I still love these ones I bought from Amazon! They are my favorites. They haven't pilled, they are soft and strong, heavy duty without being over hot. These sheets have been through dozens of washings in warm water and thrown in the dryer without a thought. They don't over wrinkle like some sheets. (Cotton sheets wrinkle, get over it.) They didn't perceptably shrink either. I have a large feather bed on top of my mattresses and they fit comfortably. If anything, they are a little big. I've got them sitting in my "save for later" account with Amazon just waiting for a sale!!!Here is my original review in 2006:These sheets are 1000 tc, but are 2 ply so they aren't true 1000 tc. That said, they are sooo soft, so strong and so thick, just the way I like my sheets. For the price, it is hard to beat them. My husband and I now sleep in the "Heavenly Bed" (after the Westin Hotels beds). Enjoy!
