Great shoes so far! Some minor issues
Note: I've been wearing these for about a month almost every day.I bought these shoes as I wanted a replacement for the Keen sandals I usually wear. These have a similar look, but are also so-called "barefoot" shoes which I wanted to try.The advertisements for Xero shoes claim they are "not cheap" and "not comfortable" as they focus on quality and good for your muscular skeletal structure. The first thing I did notice when I got them was that they did appear cheap. As in, looking at them, and even feeling them when I got them it felt and looked like I had bought some really cheap junky walmart shoes for 10 year olds. Also, they are decently comfortable. By initial glance the shoes completely failed according to their advertisement. However, after wearing them almost daily for over a month, I am feeling good about them. Despite their cheap appearance they have held up pretty well. I have walked, hiked, and even ran/played ultimate in them and they have very little to almost no wear. As far as help to my muscles/skeleton I have no idea. I do notice I more often find myself walking hitting on the front of my foot in the "right" way but besides that if it has benefits I at least don't notice, but perhaps my body does. Not sure. Some minor issues.1. many reviews have brought up is the difficulty of getting them on. This is true, but it isn't egregious and doesn't bother me too much, but yes they are a bit hard to put on.2. Look, as I have mentioned I don't think is great and the feel and everything do look cheap/plastic-y (I have the black ones, fyi)3. the smell. Maybe my issue, or something I walked in, but they do rather stink after some use. I guess to some extent that is the nature of shoes you wear without socks, and maybe I just have particularly odorous feet. It isn't egregious but annoying. Keen's have some supposedly special anti-odor soles (not sure if they work or not) but these definitely do not. Again not too bad, and perhaps I have weird bacteria or something. who knows.4. Stuff in your shoes. Keen sandals keep your feet off the ground and have this crazy well designed sole so that I could walk through mud, dirt trails, small puddles, etc. and not get much or anything in my sandals. These of course, being barefoot shoes are much more prone to getting dirt/sand/water/etc. in them. which is annoying. But that is more the nature of barefoot shoes than anything about this particular shoe.Overall great shoes.

Favorite shoes EVER!
Wore these to work every day for a year, on my feet walking/standing whole day. Comfortable, light weight. And they are barely worn, still in great shape. Sadly they no longer seem to be in production, so if you like minimalist shoes and fit in the sizes remaining I'd highly recommend buying!

i’m on my second pair — plus comment about fit
i’m old and fat … (70 , 5foot 8, 225 lbs.)i’ve had different products from Xero. these sandals are my favorite. the sole is just the right texture i guess, because i don’t feel the gravel at all compared to other barefoot shoes, including Xero. also the sole wears very well! in any case if someone wants to try out barefoot shoes, i recommend these sandals specifically. Xero reviews usually suggest buying 1size longer than your usual size. it can’t hurt to buy them 1size up and you can decide for yourself , hopefully when you order a second pair. that said, i buy all my shoes 1 size longer than what i am told i should wear. in the case of these sandals, i pressed the wrong button on the first pair. so i wore the wrong size for a long time without any problems. now that i have the second pair - 1 size larger - i prefer it. if your feet are very flat, you’ll prefer them to fit long for sure. that’s true of all shoes, i find.

So far, so perfection! 👟
They fit me a little small. I ordered a 9.5 and I wear a 9.5 in shoes but I typically wear a wide. The length was perfect. Fortunately the tightness isn't terribly uncomfortable. If I ordered a 10.0 I'm pretty sure my little toes would be sticking out the side.So far I have worn them on an overnight backpacking trip... only did 2.5 miles each way and I'm glad I did. My legs were so sore the day after our hike out. The pamphlet that came with the shoe warns of that happening when you first start wearing them. So I hiked 2.5 miles on both Saturday and Sunday and was sore AF on Monday. But I wore them for an entire day at a waterpark and no soreness issues!I like these for hiking. A lot. The closed toe protected me from stubbing my toes on roots and rocks many times. Gave great protection. Also, I was worried that sharp rocks might be uncomfortable to step on, but I walked gravel roads and extremely sharp trail rocks with no discomfort whatsoever. They felt so good. It was almost as though I could tell the rocks and things were there and they were sharp. And it was a good thing. I felt more connected and aware of the ground, but with perfectly protected feet.At the waterpark the shoes were magnificent. I wore them down all the slides and I never felt weighed down like I do with typical water shoes. Even swimming in the lazy river and wave pool I couldn't even tell they were on my feet. I think I'd spend 100 bucks on these just for use as water shoes! That's how good they were.So far they seem very durable. The sole is guaranteed for 5,000 miles but nothing about the webbing and things. Because my shoe fit tightly I knew I'd be putting pressure on most of the seems and connections of webbing to the sole. So, I pulled and tugged, hard, on all those spots and there was xero indication that there could be a failure.I will update of there are any failures with this shoe in the future. In the meantime, I'm gonna wear these everywhere!

Look a bit odd but they work.
If minimalist shoes suit you then these are likely to work. I have been using another brand of shoe for many years but they have steadily added thickness to their soles so they are soft and squishy like standard running shoes. These Xero shoes have thin soles, one of the three hallmarks—thin soles, no arch support, no heel—of minimalist footwear.Still, they are a bit odd. The structure of the uppers allow for great ventilation but it’s easy for sand and gravel to intrude. But there is no such thing as a perfect shoe, right? One thing I don’t like is the lacing. Elastic cords are an annoyance.
